NJ Drone swarms

Drones are the future, minute man missle = $7 million, could build 700 drones at 10,000 a piece (or 10,000 drones at 700 each).
Drones are part of the future, not the future. 10,000 low end drones, no matter how frightening that may seem, do not equal the destructive and deterrence capabilities of one ICBM. Anti-drone capabilities are coming online rabidly (though not as fast as they should be), and they are a lot easier to knock out than an ICBM or hypersonic missile. They'll be part of the mix of military equipment going forward, for sure, but they are not going to supplant known/proven systems like ICBM's or manned aircraft anytime soon.

I just hate the term “drone”. I wish there was a better name/term such as “piggy”. That would at least make me snigger every time I heard it.

It might also help to differentiate between the different sizes. Do we have Kyle on his dirt bike getting some sick footage with his DJI, or are we dealing with “an unknown enemy” with Reapers?

It seems implausible that the source and purpose aren't actually known. Drones can't be that hard to track. If they aren't registered or beaconing which they must not be, the "authorities" could just shoot down a few for a look see.

To me, for the Pentagon to make such absolute statements, assuming of course that they aren't just bald faced lies. Means they do know what's up and they just aren't going to say.

And I take note of what isn't said. "Not from the US military". Contractors count? Military excludes spooks US spooks I suppose?

They know what, when, where and who these things are. No way they don't.

Absolutely not. Now way. No flying pigs. Do you know how many guys (myself included) would have to go back and ask out that fat, ugly chick? I mean, I’m married now. I can’t do that.

True enough. Nevertheless, Ukraine is putting on a pretty good show with their drones. From precision maneuvers like dropping a grenade into the open hatch of a Russian tank to kamikaze drones that directly destroy troop transports (and tanks), I am amazed at the versatility and effectiveness of drones in modern combat.

(A few days ago, a video showing some recent Ukraine/Russian combat appeared in my YT feed. Out of curiosity, I watched that video, and then another. Now my feed is stuffed full of similar videos.)

Saw one yesterday of one dropping a grenade on a soldier sleeping. He swept it away about a sec before it went off.

Stock up on bird shot in addition to nato rounds!
