Battery poll, is Optima all that?

I run two Yellow top Optimas in our race rig. We also run a red top for the winch on our trailer. All have been good.

    '08 Rubi Questions

My plans are to run a 3" kit with 35" tires. For what I plan on doing I figure the short arm kit will be fine. From what I have read it sounds like the new JK's "short arm" is longer than the older Jeeps were. I am not a fan of big wheels (18+ inches). 17" wheels are even a stretch for this old...

    '08 Rubi Questions

We have a new '08 Rubi Unlimited due to be built soon and I have been trying to research all I can on what is available for them and recommended by other owners for lifts, engine mods, etc. I have spent a lot of time on other websites, but you folks are new to me and will have your own slant on...

Thanks for the link to Medsker's stuff. Looks like they are heavy duty rock crawlers. We don't plan on anything that serious. We'll save the HD stuff for our racing :D.

I have a question for you folks, I have been surfing around the site looking for brand specific threads. Do you plan on creating anything? We have it over on Planet, but so far there hasn't been much posted about what I am looking for. We have a new Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited due to be built...

Hmmm. Here is a link to one race we had this year. http://www.planet4x4.net/forums/attachments/mud-racing-bogging/7625d1185420500-july-21st-pvcp-mud-drags-results-21-july-open-1.wmv I hope it loads ok. The '49 Ford had a blown/nitrous BB ford engine with around 1600 hp. I'm on the far side in...

Thanks for the welcome. We usually do well locally but for reality checks we like to race at places like Soda Springs. There are some serious mud racers out there from Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Washinton, etc that kick our butt all the time. It's all about having fun

[/COLOR] Jeeps usually weigh about 1000 pounds less than a Land Cruiser. That 400 hp you had would have certainly turned it into a monster. I've lost to many SBC Jeeps through the years. It's all about traction.

It's an "E" ticket ride alright! Oh, it's over 700 ft. lbs of torque and over 835 HP running on C-14 fuel...no nitrous (That stuff scares me). This winter we are going back through it because it's time for new pistons. Might bring in a new cam as long as it's torn down

Thanks Greg. Nope, the stock engine was froze up way back when we bought it. That was perfect because we wanted to drop a V8 in. Here is a link to a write up Matt did on the "Dawg" on Planet. it explains most everything about it so I don't have to retype it here. Also, here is a shot of the...

Thanks. You are close to Soda Springs, Id. Have you ever gone over there to mud race before? We try to make it to their annual mud drags every year. Missed it this year because of another race.

Howdy all, My name is Darrel and wifes' name is Phyllis. Now that Planet 4x4 has been picked up by Greg and Shane I figured I better come over to this site and see what you folks are up to. We are serious Mud drag junkies. We haven't been out on the trails in years but have plans to get back...
