Lol.. You know it's funny, but I started to realize that not too long after I started tearing it up. The kid I bought it from was of the understanding that the previous owner had put it in. When I started pulling it up I saw the original paint underneath it and started thinking it was factory...

Pimpin' myself out a lil' bit

So, I'm thinking that since I don't really know much about wrenching, I'd like to learn. I'm also thinking that I'm a stud... so that being said, I'm thinking.. If anybody has some projects vehicles going on out there, and wouldn't mind some extra help, I'd be happy to offer a hand. As long...

Outside isn't too bad either.. she's got some rough spots around the fenders near the wheels and underneath the doors.. but that's not too big a deal because I'll end up replacing them anywhoodles.. Here's a couple of amatuer shots of the exterior.

Sooo... as you can see, she's lost that lovin' feelin' But with a little lovin' from me, hopefully someday I can get her Moab ready First photo is before I got all the crap chiseled out, now it looks more akin to the second photo, which is the passneger side :greg:

No huge news flash today. I went to work inside the piggy today, trying to clean her up a little bit and figure out what I'm going to do with all the rust.. and there is plenty of it. Same stuff different day really. I took out all the seat belts so I could scrape around them, and pulled back...

Well... nothing too spectacular today either, but I did get some one on one time with the Piggy. I pulled up the weather stripping on the front and rear passenger doors, and started scrapping out all of the rust in the tub... I haven't found any spots yet where the rust has eaten through the...

    Driving without doors...

Ok, so here is the thick and the skinny of the whole thing. It's not illegal to remove your doors, per se, but if your vehicle is not designed to have removable doors from the manufacturer, and you take them off, then it should not pass the safety inspection. However, some safety technicians...

    It's Official

Well, I finally started doing something with my FJ55... don't hold your breath though, it's nothing to dramatic yet, but it is something. I pulled out the front bench seat, all by myownself, which if you knew me, you would understand that was a feat of monumental accomplishment, because I...

    Drum roll please...

You know when I first bought her, I didn't have any ideas about bobbing the back end. But there is a ton of overhang on that thing. If I went the half cab route, it would actually be more like a quarter cab type deal... Thinking maybe I would shorten the back tub a bit, then cut the wheel wells...

    Drum roll please...

Here's a couple of shots... these pictures are kinda like a mini skirt. They give you some good ideas, but don't actually reveal the whole thing. I can't make up my mind as to whether I'm going to bob the back end straight down, and turn it into a BJ70 of sorts, or if I'm going to half-cab the...

    Drum roll please...

So, It's about freakin' time I did something here. I've been a casual lurker on the boards for a while now. I took a short hiatus from lurking even, but now I'm back... My name is Steve, and I live in West Jordan. I have a 1976 FJ55 Landcruiser, which I've had plans to build it into a rock...
