    Tie Rod removal problem

Is this normal? Does anyone know if this is normal for a tie rod? Or does this mean there is some sort of problem? Because the replacement tie rod I have to put on apparently is doing the same thing, where the bolt can turn. I would think it would have to, because a functional tie rod needs...

    Tie Rod removal problem

I'm stuck here. I'm attempting to swap the tie rod on my XJ because mine got bent really bad. But I'm having trouble getting the nut off of both ends, where it connects to the driver side and the the Y joint. (See pics) The nuts are not coming off, because when I turn them, the bolt turn...

    Educational Diagram

I am new to the sport of off-roading and am loving every minute of it. But I am learning one lesson really quick: STUFF BREAKS. It seems on the half the outings I go on, I break something. C'est la vie. Well, I'm trying to find some kind of resource which would help educate me on which...

I got a ticket for being off trail, Who makes the laws?

I understand completely. Capt. Picky, In understand why you won't let it out in public. Not a prob. I'll just have to go out and find some for myself. But this brings up the question that originally inspired this thread. If I do find what appears to be a trail on public land, is it...

I got a ticket for being off trail, Who makes the laws?

Thanks! Capt. Picky, Goodness man! You are a wealth of knowledge! Thanks very much. Is there any way you could describe to me through the forum how I could get to one or a few of these trails you know of for sure, or would that be a difficult task? Or you could even post GPS...

I got a ticket for being off trail, Who makes the laws?

Great post! Capt. Picky, These trails you speak of, would one find them on these maps you spoke about, or do you just have to know them from word of mouth or experience? I would love to find some trails like those. Would camping be a legal option along most of these trails?

I got a ticket for being off trail, Who makes the laws?

I do agree with you somewhat. Certainly it is impossible and impractical to put signs up everywhere and and fence in every area that is illegal to offroad in. It would be very unsightly as well. I'm not for that. It is a very difficult situation, indeed. I never leave clearly followed...

When do AF Canyon trails open?

Nuts Well, I hope I'm around for it at least for a little bit. Air Force is gonna send me somewhere real soon, I just don't know when and I don't know where. If anybody plans any runs in AFC before I go, count me in.

    Moab Rollover Video

Near death experience I almost rolled yesterday just playing around in a local area. Scared the SH** out of me. Maybe because I don't have a roll cage or anything and it would have messed my jeep up good...

When do AF Canyon trails open?

Does anyone know when the trails in American Fork Canyon typically open up? Or if you don't know, is there somewhere I can call to check frequently on their condition? I'm also interested in Hobble Creek Canyon, if anyone knows when that area should open up...

I got a ticket for being off trail, Who makes the laws?

Policy to not notify I have also been curious about those kind of laws. A couple of months ago, I came way too close to being slapped with a $1000 fine for being in the wrong place. I always assumed that if someone doesn't want you to go somewhere and will fine you lots of money if you do...
