That is a good list, but no mention of the Italian Job. The original of course, 1969, with Michael Caine. The Mini's, on top of an outstanding plot of course, make a great movie. But the Lamborghini Miura climbing the Alps behind the opening credits are my favorite few minute's of the film.

For the same reason that when you can't make your climb in high range, you shift into low range. Even though the drum does not have gears, every wrap of cable produces a different "gear" ratio.

Just thinking......didn't the Donner Party leave the SL valley too late in the season.........didn't they have trouble getting across Nevada..........weren't they high in the Sierra's when an early snow storm hit. Just thinking.
