    Line/hose options for onboard air?

Air line and PTC fittings I purchased from Six-States Distributors. They carry a lot of heavy truck parts. I believe NAPA also carries quite a selection of them, at least the one on 12th street in Ogden, I can't speak for all of them. Mike

    Line/hose options for onboard air?

When I had my onboard air system I used exactly what you are thinking of doing, 3/8" OTR nylon air brake lines with PTC (Push To Connect) fittings. Air tank was underneath the Jeep with bulkhead connectors at front and rear bumpers. The system worked well for the several years I had it...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Yes. I just hit the bandsaw table with some 120-grit, then 180-grit and lastly some 320-grit on the DA. I ran the 320-grit over the tables on the disc/belt sander as they were already bare metal, they just hadn't seen any love in a while. I agree, I love the metal-finished look too. Mike.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Last night I decided to take a few minutes to repair the air nozzle on my vertical bandsaw. The other night I lowered the blade guide and bumped it to the table which broke the small spot weld loose. I cleaned with a wire wheel, wiped with acetone and soldered the pieces back together. I...

    The Rubi Q Build

The LS might have something to do with it but also for the room. I needed comfortable seating for four due to my in-laws traveling with us as much as they did. That is why my son ultimately ended up selling his LJ even though we were planning on dropping a 5.3 LS into it, he wanted more room...

    The Rubi Q Build

Nice score on the LJ Rubicon, looks clean. I still miss my son's 2004 LJ. I like them when they are kept simple and somewhat stock looking yet are built to handle off-road with ease and have the mods where they count. Subscribed. Mike

Great thread. I like who most have already mentioned and for many of the same reasons while I'm flattered by the comments at the same time. There is such a wealth of knowledge as well as personality on this forum. I've learned a lot from the diversity as well as it has made me look at things...

A few pics from last week’s trip to Torrey, UT/Capitol Reef area. One of our day trips consisted of a picnic lunch out on Cathedral Valley Drive. While eating lunch this little guy scurried up alongside us and posed for a picture. Another day we took a highway trip over to...

Besides the manner in which the vehicle is tied to the trailer, I also don't like the careless manner in which the ramps are merely thrown onto the deck of the trailer and not secured. A few good bounces going down the road and they're causing an accident or worse, going through someone's...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Thank you. I just haven't been impressed with the receiving side of the SWAG press brake. For small pieces the bend radius is dictated by that large angle iron and not conducive to a nice tight bend. I originally had smaller and smaller pieces of angle iron that I would place inside of the...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

They are just a standard 4-way press die. I bought them slightly used off of ebay a couple of months ago and just last week cut the angle iron from my SWAG brake and installed the 4-way die. I bought two 12" sections and cut one down to 7 inches for a total of 19". I still need to drill and...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I stopped off to my buddies shop on the way home from work last night and charged my A/C system. He’s pretty good about letting me use his machine in exchange for the occasional welding or machining job. I pulled the system into a vacuum and let it sit for about 20-minutes and it held great so...

    Coronavirus

That is almost word for word what my FIL says. He said he's been practicing social distancing for quite some time now and he's lonely, especially since my MIL passed away. My wife and I try to visit him as much as we can and we even took him for a drive on Saturday which I think we all needed...

Last night I replaced the radiator in the Jeep due to a leak as well as replaced my high pressure A/C line that also developed a leak over the winter. Leaking radiator removed. A/C condenser and Camaro SS fan removed. New radiator with the cooling stack components assembled and ready to...
