Broken piece on fridge help please...

Looks like a mechanical fuse for the icemaker drive. Have you tried your model number in Sears Parts Direct?

    Practice Scraps

Any metal shop should have a bin of scrap, they'd probably sell pieces to you pretty cheap.

    Hauling a grain silo... Ideas?

That one should have the internal strength to lay down without needing bracing added, but make sure you evenly support it. If it winds up on a pressure point it could kink the side in and cause some issues.

Radiator transmission cooler as power steering cooler?

Well, I got my PS cooler installed today. Maybe some time this month I can find the time to mount the fuel pump, and maybe even start the damn truck!

I think they snuck an extra 0 into the price there.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Your conduit may be worn out, or clogged with metal dust. Whenever I change a wire spool, I like to take the whip off and blow shop air through it both ways. If you have a kink right by the machine, then the conduit is likely broken. It can usually be replaced by itself, but if the whip is...

    LED Shop Lighting

I grabbed a couple of the Harbor Freight "Braun" branded LEDs, and they are pretty bright. I had gotten a couple sets of the Costco replacement LED tubes, pulled the T12s out of the kitchen light and threw them it. Now I can see how bad the kitchen looks. I tried them in a fixture in the...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I got rid of the Edelbrock carb on my box van and got a Motorcraft 4350 spreadbore instead. I was looking for either a vacuum secondary Holley or a Q jet to drop in this, in the hopes it would help driveability and fuel mileage. Of course the only spreadbore adapter I could find was for a Q...

Shop / Tools Need a new drill?

I was doing mechanical assembly and gained a reputation for killing drills. They had a bunch of older DeWalts and I let the smoke out of one (I do have a legitimate history of doing this with DeWalt stuff), so they bought a Milwaukee M18 1/2" drill for me to try. I absolutely loved it, and it...

    Becoming better prepared for emergencies.

I have a Cat S61 phone, it has an FM radio and huge battery, plus that thermal camera bit is a nice feature. I'm also working on a (eventually) solar powered low water consumption growing system, so should be good to make my own fresh food year round. I'd love to have a stash of bottled water...

    Today I Want This....

Yes, that's why it'd be preferable to a container, I was just wondering if I could haul it home or if it weighed some insane amount. 22gauge, though, it's probably in the 3000lb range for the 20' model.

How much do those weigh? I'd love to have a shipping container for storage here but the only way to get one into the backyard is via crane.

    Today I Want This....

A blow through side draft, pushrod four cylinder with a U turn head- hard pass on that one. I'd like to find something like this or a Miata and drop in the Busso V6 out of my Alfa. Light, lots of power, and awesome sound.
