    Snakes 10/2

This is too bad. We need to make a decision. We need to decide as a community, as a club, as an association, what we will do to a) prevent this in the future and b) what do do when it happens. This kind of damage is unacceptable (to me at least). Legal or not, this trail was created as a...

Jeep Safari EA comment period ; Letters needed!

What is the best way of sending the comments? I breezed through the EA pretty quick but didn't notice specific instruction on sending comments. Snail mail to the Moab office address, or is there a good email address? EZ

    propane VS. oxy/Acetalene

So now you're calling Jake a liar? :D Interesting info. I had never heard of using oxy-propane before.....propylene was new to me when I saw it. There must be a different function of the set up with the different tips and such, because it feels MUCH hotter using my oxy-propylene set up...

Anyone found the hidden GPS coord's yet?

Well yeah....I thought that but it's nice to have original ideas. I don't want to copy everything everyone else does. EZ

I said I wouldn't recommend it, not that it couldn't make it. Besides, Toyota's are always going places with open diffs and IFS that most jeeps can't make with two lockers  EZ

    propane VS. oxy/Acetalene

Yes, Propylene. Call Airgas if you don't believe me. Propylene cuts steel better, faster and cleaner than acetylene. It is also safer to store and the tanks are a lot lighter. Next time Airgas has a demo day, you need to come down and check out all the kewl toys. EZ

Anyone found the hidden GPS coord's yet?

My guess is, the only GPS coor'd we'll see that is within a resonable driving distance for us will be somewhere in Moab. The rest will be in Cal, the Pacific NW, maybe one in South Dakota, Oklahoma, and that off road park in Indiana. We aught to do something like this locally. EZ

The first two. Drop off on one side and you can't do it without a 3 point turn unless you are me :-) I wouldn't recommend any wheelbase longer than about 108 on that road. EZ

Anyone found the hidden GPS coord's yet?

Don't have it with me at work, but it is in the axle guide article, in one of the picture captions. I just threw open the mag, looked, and there it was! EZ

    propane VS. oxy/Acetalene

Yeah , go talk to Jake. Also, when I was there I was getting my info straight from the Harris rep. They made it sound like my old regulators wouldn't work (the acetylene one, anyways.) You'll also need to get smaller sized tips, because the ones that come with it are for cutting really...

    propane VS. oxy/Acetalene

I think the torch kit with hoses and regulator was about $260, plus the tank....dont remember what that was. The thing with propylene is, you hardly use any of it. When you are cutting you set the regulator on like 1 psi. It will last forever at the rate I use it. EZ

That's upper Major Evans Gulch. You go to Silver Lake Flat Reservoir, and cross the stream and continue up the hill. When you start at the real trailhead, there are some hairy switchbacks and the trail climbs up the mountain through the trees for quite a ways until you enter the actual gulch...

    propane VS. oxy/Acetalene

It's not propane, it's propylene. And it's better for everything. I watched a demo at AirGas and was so impressed I bought the kit. You need to switch over to a different torch and tip set up, plus get the gas and turn in your acetylene tank. You can cut 1" thick steel like a plasma cutter...

Gaskets under my jeep hinges ?

I used some 1/16" rubber between my hinges and windshield frame. My thinking is it keeps the crap out. You could use an old cut up innertube for this. Kurt used some kind of wax on his...not sure what kind, not car wax, something thicker. Really good stuff. Anywhere there is wax, water is...

    YJ Master cylinder/brake line routing

Marc, Mine pretty much looks like Caleb's pics. I think the reason they are coiled is so there is a little "stretch" room to account for flexing, etc. (Considering one end is mounted to the frame and the other is mounted to the firewall/tub.) EZ
