    A small call for help

Prayers sent Stratton. Best of luck to you. Mike

Ford Brian's bronco 2 gets wontons and dddd

Looking great. My only recommendation would have been to not put a drain plug on the bottom plane of the transmission pan as it could be a potential point of contact and major leak. I usually mount my drain plugs low but on one of the sides to avoid hitting on something and damaging the pan or...

Jeep LS swap for the LJ

I think you will be fine with the 2.72 TC gearing. I had the 241OR in my 2011 JKUR and hated the short shifting when mated with the 42RLE as well. Unfortunately with a 6k pound Jeep even on flat terrain and tires aired down I had to be in 4 LO to keep the RPM's up into the usable power band...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

That looks like a fun filled day Jeremy. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

January 1997 when my 1940 Street Rod/race car was featured in Street Rodder magazine and Jan/Feb 2010 issue when a couple of our sand toys were featured in Sand Sports magazine. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I haven’t been in the shop much over the past ten days or so but I had to get my wife’s car serviced yesterday morning so we could bring dinner in to my in-laws in the afternoon. For starters I was able to try out my new GRYPMAT that I received from my Secret Santa last week on another forum...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Nothing too major over the past week or so but I had a few small items on my white board that I really wanted to have completed before the end of the year. My son purchased a used older Snapper single-stage snowblower identical to the one we had years ago at our last place and has been going...

    Enclosed Trailer discussion

I had the standard 10k pound coupler on my Wells Cargo but I special ordered the 25k adjustable coupler when I ordered my Haulmark Edge race trailer. It was a little tight with my weight distributing hitch at first but I really liked having the higher capacity coupler for peace of mind. Mike

Jeep LS swap for the LJ

Subscribed. You had me at LS.;) You'll love the drivability and manners both on and off-road. I would check with the County because if they follow USEPA rules strictly they won't allow an aftermarket wiring harness as the harness is an integral part of the EPA certified package. Would be...

I would think that would be hard to balance and create a little vibration at speed. :D

    Jeep JK spring swapping

Ahhhh, the ole' spring swap-arooni dance. Just went through that myself over the summer. I have some springs but all taller than you are asking for. Good luck, Jeep's looking great. Mike

Thank you. It should be rigid enough for what I need. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I was able to complete my axle fixture last night. There are several ways I could have cut the V grooves in the upper halves. The easiest probably would have been to cut along the scribe lines with the vertical bandsaw and then touch up on the belt sander but I wanted to machine the grooves...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Agreed. I would have liked to have had machined top and bottom but I didn't have enough of the 1" x 4" bar stock and this was built completely from scrap/drops. I had plenty of tubing and was the next best option for the purpose. Besides, I hadn't done any welding in a while and I was itching...

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

Agreed. Availability, or lack thereof, will definitely drive the price. The other thing I noticed is that the further south along the Wasatch front you go the steeper the housing prices get and most come with less property. We were first looking around the Kaysville, West Layton even...

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

I guess that's a premium, and I'm not worthy. Holy CRAP! And I thought my 3/4 acre lot was expensive @ $109k. Daaayyyyyuuuuummmm.

    Help with my yardscaping plans?

Place is coming along nicely Marc. I about choked on my coffee when I read that they are asking $270k for the less than 1/2 acre lot next door to you. WOW!

General Tech What did you work on Today?

One step closer to completing my axle fixture. I cut the 4” x 1” bar stock then cleaned up the ends in the mill before measuring the bolt centers and drilling the through holes. Horizontal bandsaw does such a nice job of clean square cuts. Ends cleaned up and milled to exact same as...

    Enclosed Trailer discussion

Agreed. I've towed enclosed race trailers all over the western U.S. and into Canada since early 90's (probably 75k+ miles) and never had an axle issue or even a flat tire on our trailer. Granted, I was anal about my bearing and brakes but never an issue on the road. I don't think I would have...
