    Harbor Freight Tools

Flare nut wrenches are definitely a fail. I went through a couple of sets (they replaced them free) before I gave up and bought a Craftsman set.

    Where is this? The game...

That's not the pet cemetery at lookout pass, is it?

    Longtravel Car?

I've been thinking about this kind of vehicle. Maybe the next project with the Outback I picked up off an RMEer!

    RV Generator

I would guess LOUD and not able to run parallel, but I'm not sure.

    RV Generator

I can confirm this. My motorhome came with a 6500w LP generator, but I dropped it and put my 3000i in there because it is so quiet and can handle the air if we need it. Obviously not a lot of buffer left when the air is running...

    Lap Belts

For straight lap belts, the ones you can get at autozone or o-reilly's for $10-20 are actually pretty good unless you need one side to have a cable or something like that.

    Backcountry business.

I've used the 5 gal bucket with a gamma lid and a cheap toilet seat from walmart. Add some RV dry toilet chem to a little shaker "Mrs Dash" bottle and smell is completely controlled. You just "season" each deposit with a shake of "Mrs Dash" and your day is happy.

Any other ultralight backpackers on RME?

Luckily the research is pretty cheap entertainment. It only starts costing lots when I pull the trigger.

Attend Open House for Glen Canyon Off-road Vehicle Management Plan!

The number one thing I got from the NPS reps is they want us to make our voices heard during the letter writing input period. They all seemed pretty cool and on the same playing field as we are.

    Camping tips:The Sleeping bag

Since I know many of you serve in Scouting organizations, another thing worth mentioning while discussing prices is there are significant discounts on gear, including bags and packs to registered Boy Scout leaders and young men. The gear is super high quality name brand gear, but not super...

    Think I found it

Sounds like it would handle it if you can get the weight distributed just right... Hauling from here to CA on the freeway, frankly I would want something heavier.

I'm coming from the International Center near the airport if anyone along the way wants a ride or if I can meet up with someone. -Eric 801-four99-916two

    The Snowshoeing Thread

Took the fam for a little snowshoeing at Jordan Pines up bcc today. We were still seeing rain at the s-curve, but the snow was pouring at the trail head with maybe 10" of fresh. The kids are just getting the hang of it and were done after about an hour, so we didn't make it to the falls...

So cool! I would love to have one of those Lister-Petter low speed diesel generators!

Hole In the Rock, Red Canyon, Blue Notch, & other trails in danger - We need help!

I think it is pretty funny that the NPS has indicated increased access to HITR sites would be beneficial to "members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". I get the reasoning, but I have never thought of it that way, any more than I think of visiting remote early Catholic...
