Looks like the pivot bolt in the dog bone backed out and the head ground away at this linkage pull rod. This is why loctite is spec'd.

This thing was ruined. They're expensive. So I welded it up.

Open the gas cap, check if you can see bubbles in the tank when it's idleing. That'll tell you real quick if it's cracked. The new bikes have a real common problem with this and fuel line disconnects.

This looks awesome! I really like the interior. I would definitely look at doing a rack & pinion conversion if you're planning on driving it like that protouring kit suggests. I haven't driven an El Camino with one but I have ridden in my friend's Malibu before and after and it was way more...
