    Brain Surgery

Anything involving nerves heals very slowly. Can take a lot of patience. Have a good friend in Winnipeg who had brain surgery earlier this year- severe double vision after that took about 2 months to resolve.

Wanted 4 wheeler or SXS for farm work.

Looking for an expensive but reliable 4-wheeler for work around my 6 acres of horse property. Won't get much use so don't want to spend much, but want it to work when I need it to as well.

High winds in SLC valley tomorrow

My work parking lot today. Too much wind-blown debris for my staff to safely bring patients into the building plus frequent power loss, so closed up the clinic for the day.

This time she is keeping him in Wellsville, so a bit of a drive to get out there. But fortunately is full care. Her pre-mission year at USU she kept him and her sisters horse in a pasture within waking/running distance of her apartment (by distance runner standards) but had to feed twice daily...

    Protests

Not sure how you are figuring that based on that graph police killings are being dealt with- 987 in 2017, 996 in 2018 and 1004 in 2019. You can't say squat about 2020 when the year isn't over. Police were present (note the articles that praise him specifically reference him talking to the...

    Cooler Experience - Opinions

Thanks for saving me the time of starting a thread on coolers....

    Protests

I see absolutely no way to defend a 17 year old with a rifle at a demonstration miles from his home shooting anyone in 'self-defense.' You can look for/cause trouble then claim self-defense. Nor should we justify/accept police killings of civilians except as an absolute last resort when...

    Protests

Voters actually forced the Democrats to the middle this year by selecting Biden over the far left side of the party. Even the idea of 'elevating' people like Ocasio-Cortez wasn't played out when she was only given 60 seconds to talk at the DNC this week (at Bernie's invitation.) But I do...

Corona Virus: The Real Thread. Who has it? How are you affected?

Another connection to the disease we have is a high school classmate of my wife died a couple weeks ago of COVID. Still in the Philippines, but again was a 40 something year old without known health problems.

    Protests

Not sure if both are really equally to blame but both certainly guilting. With the GOP they campaigned so hard against "Obama Care" that once they actually controlled House, Senate and Presidency they had no plan and accomplished nothing in that area. Very frustrating and it is easy to see why...

Corona Virus: The Real Thread. Who has it? How are you affected?

Had one neighbor hospitalized for over a month (Grantsville resident.) Other-wise healthy 40-something. For a few weeks it wasn't clear if he would live or not, but did ultimately recover and after a month or so on O2 at home heard is finally back to work. Rest his family has been fine.

    Coronavirus

When looking at the numbers, one thing that is too often ignored is that those deaths/cases is with restrictions in place. How many more would we have had if we followed a lot of people wish to just go about our lives as normal? How many more deaths would be acceptable to maintain that? Very...

    Protests

It is certainly two sided- neither is willing to talk with the 'others'. However, I do think in recent years it has become almost a mantra of the GOP not to talk to Democrats or compromise. That is a huge loss to the country as scoring campaign points becomes more important that actual governing.

    Protests

And thus we see 100% the exact problem on why we can't fix anything or address real issues- the very idea that one side won't talk to the other on the assumption that anyone who disagrees with them must be inherently dishonest (radical, hate America, pick your poison.) If we want to solve...

Mine lived through the 1918 influenza epidemic, so I actually suspect they would have been willing to.

    Protests

I would say the key step to limiting the effects of the extremist views is to actually address the shared concerns in the middle, which too often doesn't happen. We see many people dig in against any needed police reforms because a few call for abolishing it. The more the problems and abuses...

    Protests

I honestly do not see why having more focus on thins that help prevent crime (housing, basic needs, education, job training, drug treatment) instead of spending all the money on jails, police and courts is a bad thing. Personally, I would rather have my tax money help people become productive...
