General Tech What did you work on Today?

We'll, thanks to the cooperation of the weather this winter and good friends and neighbors... We roofed in the sunshine of New Year's Day last weekend. Still a little miscellaneous framing to be done but this is where I had hoped to get before the weather turned bad. Time to take the dogs chukar...

Cab over camper & car hauler... what truck?

My 9' camper on a long bed works, with my trailer, with no extender. We've never used the inside shower on our camper because the way it's set up, you'd just about have to sit on the toilet to do it. I think the Lance campers have a little better design on their wet bath. Just not sure of the...

    Back into roofing...logo feedback

Boats, ho's and roofing??? Give me a call (about the roofing) I have a boat and the wife wouldn't approve of the other. I'm getting bids on my shop. I'm ready now and want to beat the weather, as I'm sure, you do. Jason 801-641-7451

    RMR raceway

Yep, I believe it's the 50 yr anniversary and the last year. Not sure what will happen? I believe Young Automotive Group owns RMR now but not sure what their intentions are.

Northern Utah January RME Trail Run - Black Rock Canyon, New Years Day Snow Run

I was thinking about this today and wondering if you'd be interested in the Snakes, due to the lack of snow. Doesn't look like there's any in sight. I'd be really interested if some of the group knows the way on Sidewinder.

    General Tech 2018 Wheeling Goals

Not sure about W4x4 or EJS but definitely interested in Western Colorado again. I am also very interested in Hole in the Rock, if you're inviting? I've never been there. If I remember correctly, this is how the Western Colorado trip came about last year. So I guess if you make the goals, I'll...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Time to update. Finally got some pictures. It's always been too dark by the time I'm done working. Fortunately the weather has cooperated for the most part. Still need to finish the overhang on the gables and cut out my windows. The priority now is getting shingles on. Any roofers on here...

    General Tech Pinion angle question.

Do you have an anti wrap device of some sort? The pinion will definitely rotate up more with torque. It would be better tilted down slightly but I'm not sure that you'll really have problem if wrap is kept under control.

    School me on Caster angle.

I agree with previous opinions. I've been able to set mine at about 6* on both a SOA CJ and YJ. One with a 44 and one with a 60. Not sure where it put the pinion angle but it did tilt it up slightly towards the transfer case. Both drove straight as could be but I was also able to unlock the hubs...

Jeep 1987 YJ Wrangler 4.2 engine swap or rebuild?

Seems like it should be easy enough to find a decent 4.0 relatively cheap.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I made a little more progress over Thanksgiving weekend. I had a lot of help and great weather on Friday and Saturday. Go the beam up. Trusses on. Working on sheathing the walls and roof. Hoping to get shingles on before the snow. Looks like good weather for Saturday again.

Quick (hopefully) TBI 350 swap in my "Jeep"

I probably stated that incorrectly... The computer will be the limiting factor to the performance parts you throw at it.

Quick (hopefully) TBI 350 swap in my "Jeep"

Remember, they used a carburetor on that build. The limiting factor in building the TBI is what the computer will allow. At least this is my understanding from the threads I've read. I'm watching for someone to spend the time/money to tell me differently - I have a TBI that I would love to...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

A few updates from the last week and a half. Put down tube for radiant heat. Left a section down the middle for the ability to bolt into the floor - lift, tube bender, etc. Had the floor poured just over a week ago. Started framing on Saturday.
