Fired up the stroker today, questions on injectors.

I have an older Fluke 87, don't know if it has the duty cycle measurement but I'll look. I'll have to look into the AFR gauge. Is there a way to use a scope on the O2 sensor and figure out the AFR ? I just looked up the specs on the AFR gauges and the stock O2 sensors and I would guess that the...

Fired up the stroker today, questions on injectors.

Well it sounds like I'll be busting out my oscilloscope. It would be nice if my scope could run on battery power so I could run it while driving under a load. Any idea how long it takes for the new trims to be calculated ?

Fired up the stroker today, questions on injectors.

Well I fired up the 4.6 stroker this morning and it went well, no problems that I know of and no leaks. I upgraded the cooling system with a new aluminum radiator, high flow water pump and thermostat housing and home made shroud. It never got too hot. I got smoked out a bit from the "ceramic"...

    Marc Bryson's K30---Errrr '94 Wrangler----wait, '4x MB---I don't know what it is.....trail rig?

I didn't have a build thread on it but it is similar to the Commando. You can always drop by and take a look if you want. I thought I wasn't adding that much weight when I did the Scrambler but the lack of power going up hills says otherwise. Hopefully the new stroker motor will fix that.

    Air shroud needed

I need an air shroud for my jeep CJ8. Ia m having trouble finding a shroud for the 4.2 engine but I believe after doing some measurements that I could modify a chevy air shroud from a mid 80's or older truck with the big block engine. So does anyone have either the CJ one they want to sell or a...

How not to be a spotter.

Its after the Rusty Nail split if you are heading up the trail. It is dug out quite a bit more than this old picture.

I'm not in a big hurry since the Commando is out at my daughters house since their Jeep is in my garage getting long arms installed.

Truck bed liner for flares ?

That would be good if there is enough left over. I would need to finish up the prep on the flares for the final smoothing of the welds. As for size here is a link to what they look like: http://www.rme4x4.com/showthread.php?66704-The-family-Commando-build-project/page5&highlight=commando+project

Truck bed liner for flares ?

I need to get some paint on my Commando's removable metal fender flares. I could smooth them out and paint them with regular paint but thought bed liner would be tougher and hold up better. Does anyone know of a tough bed liner that won't fade to a chalky grey in the sun ? Would shops that apply...

    Easy camping meal ideas

Tin foil dinners are easy if you use the method I would teach my scouts.... cook it in the oven at home before you leave then freeze it. Stuff it in a plastic bag inside your sleeping pad to keep it cold. By the time you get to camp its thawed out and all you need to do is warm it up.

How not to be a spotter.

While doing Gold Bar and part of Golden Spike last Friday we got to witness how not to get a large group of people over the Gold Bar drop off. While I was waiting for my brothers to show up at the trail head a very large group of Land Cruisers came by. It was a mix of all years of Cruisers from...

GM conversion radiator issue on my Commando

I'm not sure the lower tank is big enough at the hose bib to make the hole larger.

GM conversion radiator issue on my Commando

I was able to find that they sell adapters for going between the two sizes but it would be nice to avoid more connection points that could leak.

GM conversion radiator issue on my Commando

The GM conversion radiator in my Commando sprung a leak so I decided to spring for a better Aluminum three core radiator. I found that these came in two varieties, one with 1.5" hose connections top and bottom and ones with 1.5" top and 1.75" bottoms. My Jeep uses the larger bottom hose so that...

    Engine parts from 1987-1991 Cherokee

I have plenty of spare 4.0 parts for 91-95 xjs and a 96 ZJ. On my CJ with a 4.0 I used TJ brackets instead so that the fan was centered. ZJ brackets will also center the fan.
