Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

As for the damage I mentioned, go to page 4 of this thread: http://www.rme4x4.com/showthread.php?92484-Rubicon-Shakedown-Run-3-Hanging-Tree-Trail/page4 Scroll down and you'll see photos of Steve's Taco highlighting the scrapes, dents and dings. I'm still baffled by the one above the right...

Northern Utah anyone up for a Snakes run this evening (Tuesday 16th)?

I've got a niece who has never been off pavement and is curious what it's all about. I thought I'd take her out to run Rattlesnake and Constrictor, perhaps meeting up at the Saratoga Chevron around 5:00 to 6:00 (depending on everybody's schedules). Anybody game to come along? Bonus points if...

Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

We got (one of) sixstringsteve's Tacomas through it, and that truck was IFS and open up front on 35s. Be advised: he did get some... unusual... body damage in a few spots. (I am NOT trying to talk you out of going; I just want you to know what you could be in for.)

Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

The trail head sign is pretty clear on the matter: Having run it 3 or 4 times, I would consider the 35" minimum tire size a rule to be heeded. As for dual lockers, you could get away with only having one provided you are with a group that doesn't mind strapping/winching you when you get hung...

    HellCat 707 HP

Yeah, sure, if you're foolish enough to order the manual transmission. The 8-spd automatic is quicker: 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, ET 11.7 seconds @ 126 MPH (all at full tire pressure on a non-prepped surface). They also measured an as-tested curb weight of 4,488 lbs. Just sayin'.

Good luck! Hopefully you'll get it sorted out in a timely manner. Heck, my tow rig just went down for repair this week. Thankfully, it went back together today; I just need to drive it for the next couple days to make sure everything is fully sorted.

Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

Do not worry. I know the weather has made things more challenging, to be sure. Speaking of: since Hanging Tree is known for having some water in it anyway, I figured this is the trail I'm going to run... if I can get somebody to lead us.

Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

I know this is still a month away, but can anybody else confirm they could make this trip? Perhaps any locals who would/could run Hanging Tree with me? I'm just trying to see if this trip is a reality or not.

    Liberty CRD's

Whoops, sorry. I had forgotten all about this post until just now. Right. In summary: Command-Trac = part-time only system = NV231/NV241 Selec-Trac = full-time capability = NV242

Okay, let me know how that goes. Yeah, I'd be curious if I can realistically run that trail or not. Please report back with your findings.

Central Utah post-surgery July 5th run of Hanging Tree Trail or the Pinnacle Trail

I go in for surgery sometime tomorrow morning. From what the surgeon tells me, I'll be at home recovering for 2-5 days afterward... and I should be back in tip top shape a short time after that. So I invite you all to help me celebrate my recovery from surgery by going wheeling! :D I was...

    Liberty CRD's

Thank you for again proving my point. Your photo shows the full-time Selec-Trac 4WD system. Lesser Libertys came standard with the part-time Command-Trac system (which had no full-time setting).

    Dodge Nitro?

No. The 3.7L V6 was never used in the minivans. It is a SOHC design and is unrelated to the pushrod 3.3L/3.8L V6 engines which were commonly used in the minivans. The 4.0L SOHC V6 which was offered in the Nitro (but never in the Liberty) did see limited use in some minivans, though.

I have GOT to finish this Miata project

That isn't my engine you saw in that photo--mine is wrapped in plastic on an engine stand in the back room--but your intuition is still spot on. Good eye. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner. Going in is a rebuilt 1991 Mustang 5.0L V8. It was bored .030 over for 306 cubic inches. I...

I have GOT to finish this Miata project

A new co-worker was asking me about my Miata project. I explained its partially-completed state, and then that progress has ground to a halt. He asked how long it has been. "A couple of years," I initially replied. But then I decided to check and see exactly how long it has been. Sadness...

    Another Drift Trike Movie. Drift-Tastic

Yeah, I think I'd need asbestos underwear before trying that downhill run. (Not that I've ever even sat on a drift trike, but that's another story.)

I would so support you in this. Be sure to film it and share it here... and everywhere.
