Getting healthier in 2020. Who's in?

How’s everybody coming along? I started around 245lbs, most I was ever at was 248. Weighed in this morning at just over 231!

    Trailer axles

I'd be interested in possibly buying the old 3500# axles you pull out if the price is right.

Definitely going to give them a shot soon, that seems way simple!

Personally I like it more than the old style.

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Finished up and bolted in. I think I need to remake my lower shaft section now, because it is a little bit off, but overall it works pretty dang good! Not super strong, but way better than nothing!

    Today I Want This....

I remember seeing a pair of those snorunner's at a pawnshop about 8 years ago in Nebraska, was like $1500 for both. I thought they were interesting, but Nebraska never got enough snow to warrant me buying them. Now I wish I had!

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Between the larger tube and the small shaft, I have a harbor freight 3/4" impact socket I'm using as a reducer. After cutting the weld off, I slipped in some 1/8" strips of steel between the flat walls of the socket, and the flat side of the double D. Ground the weld completely off on the small...

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Finally got the mini lathe at work, working, chucked up my steering shaft. I wish I would've just done this from the get go. Now I'll need to grind all my welds down, and re weld everything. Not the end of the world though, and at least it'll actually be straight this way. Check out my ghetto...

The electric hydraulic ram setup is an awesome idea too though.

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

For sure. I have known a lot of people who have wheeled for years on the stock box without issues, and I've talked to a few guys who have used this setup for a few years without any issue. There is a guy in Arizona that does wheels his zuk on 37' and yota axles, and swears by this setup. My...

Nah, it still had a flatbed on on it and was being used to haul plumbing pipe.

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

That's still a great setup, especially for some harder wheeling. This is out of a 2008 Nissan Versa, but there is a ton of options. The setup from a 2004-2009 Prius works just as well, but the electric motor is on the other side, and sits closer to where the samurai 1.3 header would be. These...

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Because of my trouble making this upper piece, I've decided I need to put it all in a lathe to keep it as straight as I possibly can. My last attempt with using a straight edge apparently failed, because it's way off. I had used a harbor freight impact socket inside the steering slip tube, with...

Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Adding electric power steering to my rig. This uses the stock sami gear box, but just goes inline the steering column. Got my brackets roughed in so far, but need to finish the upper shaft. I've tried making it a couple times, but have failed, because I can't seem to keep the dang thing straight.

    Wheelin/Trail Goals for 2020

I'd like to finish up my samurai, get it up American Fork Canyon, to Moab to wheel Top of the World, Golden Spike, and Metal Masher. Specifically in that order.

    Today I Want This....

I saw one of these in person a couple weeks ago at Home Depot in Salt Lake. Was kind of beat up, and definitely a work rig, but I fell in love instantly. I'd love to get my hands on one of these 4x4's.

    SUR-RON E-Motorcycle/bike

Completely agree! I have a buddy who used to have a Bad Boy Buggy, basically a lifted, 4X4 electric golf cart. Wasn't extremely fast, but was super quiet which was awesome, and came with racks from the factory to haul your game and gear on. I'd love to try one of these bikes out.
