Suzuki TDI Swapped Samurai Truck Conversion

Picked up a set of almost brand new 255/75r17's for $350. Going to run them on Dodge Ram 1500 17x8 wheels. I'm going to run 1.5" spacers, but I still need to open the bore to clear the hub. Has anybody had success using a hole saw to open the bore? The lug holes are tapered so I can run them lug...

    Cory's Cummings swap

Sweet project! Wish I could find a donor truck like that, seems like everybody still wants $4-5k for a crap box high mileage, and wrecked unit. Been looking at buying a school bus for a donor if my project ever comes to fruition.

    Coronavirus

Orem Costco was a madhouse on Saturday, and was completely sold out of water, and a few other basic things. I just wanted to get a couple cases of water because the water dispenser and ice maker in my old fridge didn't work. Overall, I'm not worried, neither my wife or I are immunocompromised...

    Staying in a camper/trailer for a week+ at a time.

Not cheap, but a sheep camp would be sweet. All the ones I’ve seen, are built much heavier duty than a typical travel trailer. 2019 Peak Mtn Camp ( Alpine Series) Sheep Camp https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/57653497

    The cars of Cuba

Really cool! I've heard that Cuba got a lot of the old stamping dies from the US auto manufacturers, and a lot of the "old" cars, down there, are actually much newer than what they appear to be, they're just stamped from old dies.

    Spotted

Nope. On two separate occasions, I have seen vehicles being towed up I15, strapped down to the trailer with nothing more, than harbor freight orange 1" wide ratchet straps. Might work to keep it on the trailer while towing, but I can only imagine in an accident it wouldn't fair so well.

There’s a TON of bricks out on the old Geneva property still.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Worked on this boiler today. Old burner had literally exploded and blew out the side.

    Knife talk

Had one of these Kershaw Hinderers for a few years. Seems kinda cheap, but it’s held up decently well, assisted opener. Belt clip finally broke off, so need to see if I can find a replacement or not.

    I hate Craigslist Lowballers...

I know this is kinda backwards, but I also hate as a buyer, when people don't list a price for something they are selling, and say to make an offer. You throw out a number, and then they either get offended, or just don't respond because they don't like your number.

"The American Life Is Killing You"

I've been trying to get my wife to get on board doing this. I have some friends who lived in the Dominican Republic for a number of years before moving back to the states to help care for their dying parents. Now that they've passed away, they're going back soon.

How long have you had your rig?

About 9 years. My Sami was my first car when I turned 16. Owned several others over the years, but haven’t let this one go just yet.

    Volkswagen TDI talk

I didn’t. Not sure what might have happened other than if the pump is air locked or something.

    Wanted Scout II hard top

I don’t see a scout listed under their inventory, but I’m pretty sure it’s their back lot. I snapped a couple pix as best I could.

    Wanted Scout II hard top

I saw a scout sitting in what I believe is the yard behind pick a part in Orem yesterday, it appears to be sitting with all the cars waiting to go into the yard. It's a ways off the road, but I'll see if I can manage to snap a pic for you.

Jeep Jeep Wrangler based truck (JT Gladiator)

Dang you. I keep telling myself the only thing holding me back is the MSRP. I may have to look into one for these prices though. Edit: Still too rich for my blood, even with the moneys off.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Aww heck yes!! My wife is Mexican, and her uncle is making me one of these! He uses steel discs with the center welded up for the "Wok", but it has a separate frame so that it can easily be removed to be cleaned. It's more of a permanent fixture rather than a travel grill, but similar idea. Lets...

    Bart's 2007 JKUR

Haha, I just now realized you work at UVU too. I admire that thing every time I have to do work in the Alumni house, it's such a sweet rig!! I'm in the HVAC department here.
