The brace is there to suck vibration out of the transfer case. Drive line vibration like a bad U joint can make them crack faster without one. It would be good to put it back on even if it was modified a bit to clear your frame.

The seal is in the case of the 241 not the adapter if it's leaking around the adapter it justs need pulled resealed. If the seal on the 241 is bad it over fills the 241 with trany fluid. There is no seal in the stock chevy 700r to np241 adapter. But I'm not sure on your adapter.

If you have it out I can fix the hole in the adapter.

Check for cracks and I always put some Right Stuff in between both I'm not sure what else it could be without tearing it apart.

Is it the 4 holes on the trans or six on the tcase I've never seen them not line up. Unless they were drilled off. Did you have it clocked or is it stock?

So the tcase filling with oil or is it leaking out somewhere? I'm kinda confused.I just put my 700r and np241 back in the Suburban a couple weeks ago.

Oh yeah, good times. I don't think the Suburban would like that but anything is possibly.
