General Tech What did you work on Today?

I only had about an hour to work in the shop last night so I fabbed up the mounting brackets for my power steering oil cooler. Here’s what I started with, a 3” long piece of 2.250” diameter x .120” wall tubing that I cut in half lengthwise to saddle over the 2” diameter cross member and two...

Nice job. It's always a rewarding feeling to see that shine, depth and clarity in the paint come out. Mike

I finished up the PSC gearbox installation last night and started coming up with a plan for mounting the Derale oil cooler. I think I have a plan for mounting the power steering cooler. Thanks for looking. Mike

    Wanted NP231 Transfer Case

I'm pretty sure as long as it is out of a Jeep, either Cherokee or TJ/LJ it should be what we're looking for as I didn't think they had that different of spline counts.

Thanks. You're right about that, the PSC box is HUGE compared to the OEM. Mike

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

I sold our first gen Roadmaster Sterling towbar a few months ago and I recently purchased Roadmaster's new Night Hawk towbar. I figured I had better get it setup and ready to go for the RVing season. Jeep pulled into the shop behind my truck for mockup. Upon attempting the first connection...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

I almost forgot about this thread so I figured I had better do a little updating. I decided do a little upgrading to my steering system and seeing that I am only running 35” tires and seriously doubt I will ever step up to 37’s, I wanted something that mainly addressed the weak sector shaft...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I pulled the Jeep in the shop last night to perform another mod before the Jeeping and RVing season commence. I am only running 35” tires on our Jeep and seriously doubt I will ever step up to 37’s so I wanted something that mainly addressed the weak sector shaft issue but if I can get a bit...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I set up my new towbar over the weekend for flat-towing our JKU behind our coach. I recently sold my early edition Roadmaster Sterling towbar that had well over 100k miles on it. I had rebuilt it a few years ago and it worked well but being an early edition was rated @ 6k pounds and my Jeep has...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Nate, the DI tank removes all of the impurities out of the water, more like a reverse osmosis than a water softener. As for polishing a shower door, I don't think the polish would work well because the shower door is more than likely glass and the headlights plastic. When polishing headlights...

    Learning to TIG: How to?

Sorry, I misunderstood and thought you meant 3/16" filler material. I see now that you meant 3/16" material not tungsten, my bad. You are correct about aluminum being a bit different to learn due to the material not changing color and yes there is a fine line between the perfect amount of...

    Learning to TIG: How to?

I'm sure you meant 3/32" rod and not 3/16" but for the most part for your first time, those look pretty decent. Nothing to be ashamed of there at all. If I could just give two bits of advice that are easy mistakes yet can turn into bad habits if not corrected right away. First off, a few of...
