Suburbans never received the Allison transmission--it doesn't fit. The best they got was the 4L80E. I'm guessing this 2500 has that trans; I think the 4L60E was only used in the 1500s (but I could be wrong).

Earlier I said I had beefed up this replacement drag link. What we did was 'box' both sides of the OEM bend, leaving an opening to attach the castle nut to the tie rod. Bottom view: Front view: Like I said, if I bend this then I will look at a completely different setup. Even...

Well, I got another OEM drag link... and beefed it up via some welded reinforcement at the bend. I'm hoping it holds up. If it ever fails again, I'll upgrade to some other type of setup.

Our group of 7 vehicles headed out for a nice day of adventure. It is always fun to go 'wheeling when Brian and Kevin are both present, because the smack talk is constant. We weren't even out of the Chevron parking lot before Kevin was giving Brian a hard time for his lousy CB output. :rofl...

In general, I would vote strongly for installing a locker before opening the t-case. As others have said, being locked--even in just one axle--is probably the single biggest increase in capability for nearly any 4x4. Two lockers are better than one, of course, but the increase in capability...

This is how I feel. If anything, I think they're better since you don't have any bones getting in your way. This is completely fair. Chicken tenders, chicken fingers, whatever. As long as I can get 'em sauced up, I'm all for 'em.

I installed my new tie rod & drag link assembly last night, then got a fresh alignment. I'm good to go for tomorrow morning. :)
