    First time home buying advice

All good advice. The reality is that 180k is about the least we can spend without a hideous drive (factor in rising gas prices and wear and tear on cars, let alone wasting time in a car each day) and 180k doesn't net you much home. Yes, I currently only pull in 47k a year (take home is ~$3200 a...

    First time home buying advice

That's what I'm concerned about. I may have my dad co-sign for us which should solve that issue. We're fairly frugal so I'm really not worried about being able to cover the mortgage on only my income. We live off of less than $1800 a month. Worst case scenario is paying $1300 a month after...

    First time home buying advice

Cc&r's , while not nearly as bad as HOA guidelines can be a pain. I haven't looked into those yet but I really need to. We plan on putting a steady $500 or more down on principle monthly, at least until pmi is dropped. I would love to go 15 year mortgage but my wife's job isn't something I...

    First time home buying advice

Great advice guys. We plan on staying away from HOAs and are only considering buying more home than we currently need because home prices are "low" and interest rates are insanely low. We plan on staying in the home long term and as I mentioned before, we're open to turning he basement into a...

    First time home buying advice

Looking to buy a home in sandy. Budget is pretty low, 180-250k, but we would be more comfortable under 220k. Would love a mother in law basement for my sister in law to live in. Anyone have a competent, honest realtor they could refer? They MUST be very good at short sales since that's all...

FJ-80 Axles and FJ80 HP 5.29 Zip Locker diff

I realize the parts are cheap. I'm not looking to make any money off them. I just need $$$, have to have them moved by this weekend and know that most guys on here are just like me, trying to wheel and build rigs on a serious budget. I'm sure in another year or two I'll find a good deal on parts...

Need two 35" tires in reasonable shape.

Offroadlogan, I may be interested. Still following up on some tires from friends. Do you have any tread pics of the tires? What brand are they? Thanks!

Need two 35" tires in reasonable shape.

Running 35 12.50 15" MTR's right now. The two in the front are dead (I bought them used) and one has a nail right through it. For the time being my wife (just got married two weeks ago) and I are sharing a car so I'm in need of two 35's. Looking to go used since money is very tight. Thanks guys!

Any Suzuki Sidekick Experts on here?

I was thinking the same thing and asked him about it, he swears he put a new cat and muffler on it but maybe in his old age he thinks he did both but only did the muffler.

Any Suzuki Sidekick Experts on here?

I believe he has new cap, rotor, plugs and wires along with new oil, oil filter, air filters etc. When he bought it less than a year ago he did all the basic tune up stuff.

Any Suzuki Sidekick Experts on here?

It's never ran great but it's progressively become worse. I believe it's a 16v motor with roughly 125,000 miles on it. It sputters, dies, has low power and in general runs terrible. It also smells like fish, but that could be unrelated. :D He loves it and it really is the perfect little...

Any Suzuki Sidekick Experts on here?

Anyone on here a sidekick expert? My dad lives in Vegas and has a 93' Sidekick that runs terribly. It acts like it's not getting any gas and sputters and dies. It's got a new fuel pump and fuel filter. He isn't very mechanically minded and is thinking of bringing it up here to see if I can...

Computer Geeks: Need Help Building a New System

Been using the linksys E3000, it's overkill but it's been working well. These days it's hard to go wrong with cheap $50 wireless N routers, just look at reviews on newegg and sort through the idiots that don't know how to set them up properly. Look for failures instead of user error. I'll ask...

Computer Geeks: Need Help Building a New System

Built it yourself. It's slightly cheaper and to be honest I don't trust most stores when it comes to their choice of hardware and software. GTX 460, 560, 560 ti or ATI 5770, 6850 or 6870 are all good choices of GPU's that should play Diablo 3 well and run great on a quality 500-600watt PSU...

Computer Geeks: Need Help Building a New System

This. I have a macbook pro from college that still works great, a newer macbook pro that I use at work along with a few PC towers. I dig the mac laptops, I just can't bring myself to spend money on mac's anymore (especially when I get a new one every three years at work :D). I work on PC's and...

Computer Geeks: Need Help Building a New System

The i3-2100 is a great little hyperthreaded dual core. To be honest, these days I'm more inclined to just point people to a quad core, especially when the i5-2400 is only $50 more. Most programs today are still optimized for single or dual core processors but that is changing as quads become the...

Is my ISP ripping me off?

Actually looks like you're getting hosed. You pay a lot for that connection.:rofl::rofl: Edit: Fastest I've seen here was ~ 940 down, ~ 80 up and 7ms latency. At home with comcast it's regularly 28-30 down, 5 up and 10ms latency. Not sure how much my roommate pays but whatever it is...
