    Jeep JK tie rod clank

Normal wear on the tie rod. It's rotating under load that causes the noise. You can replace parts to eliminate the noise, but. It's really not hurting anything.

Need to borrow, beg, or as a last resort rent a trailer

Yeah, that's plenty high. Set the ramps on plywood scraps so they don't sink or unload on the pavement before entering the salt

Need to borrow, beg, or as a last resort rent a trailer

Drive the tow rigs rear tires up on ramps. The rear of the trailer will be at ground level.

    factory jk flares

I can't help you with the flares, since I've gotten rid of mine, but I will say there's no way the fronts will work for you. I could see two sets of rear flares working out well though.

[Advice] Bumpers, winches, lifts & stuff?

You'll need a tuner to calibrate tire size and lower the TPS settings. Your Speedo looks at wheel speed, so gear ratio is not a factor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

[Advice] Bumpers, winches, lifts & stuff?

Sorry, I'm late to the show. Level it, you'll reuse that later. If you decide to go bigger, things get pricey. The lift will cost, plus tires and wheels. Plan on a tuner no matter how much lift. I'm at 3.5" on short arms, all Tera adjustables. Drives nice, but I'd avoid Tera's shocks. Go with...

How to sell a rig to an out-of-state buyer?

Selling out of state is a breeze. Buyer sends cashier check, seller sends title. Vehicle doesn't ship until check clears. I've sold several high end vehicles this way.

Soa conversion and YJ conversion questions on cj-7

If you want to save yourself a lot of pain, stretch a couple CJ tops to fit your needs. You should go park your CJ next to a TJ/LJ and compare the two closely. You'll find there's a lot more involved then just the windshield. I like your LJ thinking, the LJ was the best Jeep I've ever owned...

Soa conversion and YJ conversion questions on cj-7

Sounds good in theory, except the LJ top won't fit the CJ tub. I have made them in the past, but they're cheap. I would just buy some. With that much lift you're going to need new shocks and brake lines. You may run into read driveshaft issues as well.

Soa conversion and YJ conversion questions on cj-7

At 2 1/2" you're going to be as tall as most monster trucks. That'll be 7" of lift. I ran stock springs with one extra leaf and I cleared 35's easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tell me about the Ram 1500.

You can easily get into a ford or Chev extended cab in that price range. Chev's in that era were 3 door, so your search automatically eliminated those. I'm With Greg, the Dodge truck as a whole is junk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    81 CJ5 Tranny fix

Just to add, a steering column out of a mid 70's Chev car is a direct replacement for what you have now. I went for the column shift with tilt wheel. I ran the TH350/D300 combo I'm my 5, you have plenty of room for a CV style driveline even with 4" of lift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    81 CJ5 Tranny fix

If overdrive isn't a big deal to you, a TH350 is what you want. It's short enough for your wheelbase. The donor has to be out of a 4X 4, unless your comfortable rebuilding one. You'll need to adapt your transfer case to the trans, or change transfer cases! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
