    Marc Bryson's K30---Errrr '94 Wrangler----wait, '4x MB---I don't know what it is.....trail rig?

In all honesty offroading I HATE my JK. The other 360 days a year I love it! I hate that I can't (won't) do some of the dumbass things I used to do, but driving to Moab in comfort then home without the trailer and all that other crap makes for a lot more trips. And I'm tired of working on...

    need input on tires.....

I run the KMII's at the moment, but will probably be going back to the MTR. Have you priced them? The MTR's seem to be going for much less than the BFG's, which is the main reason I'll be switching. You really can't go wrong with either tire though.

    Wanted 85 cj steering column

Chevy will be too.... Just collapse the collapsible section of the column to get the desired length. Well, that's what I've always done.

    Wanted 85 cj steering column

Any mid 70's Chevy car will bolt right up and finding a tilt should be a breeze.

Have a Ford Raptor? DON'T hit any bumps at speed!

It's like passing a car wreck, you just can't help but look... Personally, I like my 2010 and think it's a "good truck". I haven't bent my frame, but then again I'm not taking a $50K truck out and thrashing it either. That's what Jeeps are for.

    Monster Buggy Class

Tire 45" minimum? Keep the penalty for rear steer, ditch any kind of tire bonus, and let em have at it.

How many of you out there are going to get a dirt bike in the near future?

NO, been there done that. I'll continue on with the Harley (Tahoe & Yosemite next weekend).

    Toyota pinion nut

Since you plan to re-gear anyway, you could toss a 0.010" shim between the race and and crush sleeve, and give it a second crush to get by for now. When you re-gear, definitely go with the solid spacer. Nice thing about Toyota's is how easy the differential is to set up. Almost makes up...

2x10 vs 2x8 or 2x6 For trailer deck?

The pressure treated woods are approximately the same price, but don't look as nice as redwood (just my opinion). Trex is great looking stuff, but no where near strong enough structurally to support the weight of a vehicle. I oil my deck once in the spring, and that's it. Takes all of 20...

2x10 vs 2x8 or 2x6 For trailer deck?

Bart, go with Redwood. More $$$ up front, but you'll never do it again (my trailer deck is 20 years old now).

    Ethanol free gas?

Ethanol is considered an octane booster so I doubt the switch will cure your detonation issue. I'd try taking a degree or two of timing out of it, and see if that helps. (I'm guessing the knock is at WOT, and low RPM?) Otherwise, you may have to shop for 100 octane.$$$$$

    Vintage Jeeps

I'm doing it backwards. The vintage stuff rarely leaves the garage, and I beat the snot out of my nice new stuff..
