    BLM building fences along Escalator

well, I guess if people stayed on the trails, fences wouldn't be needed. No one to blame, but ourselves.

Sorry, not computer skilled enough to create the link :p but article was on page 2 of the B section of 3/8 Deseret News if someone wants to.

    EJS Rumor or Fact?

I understand the issue with buggies and non-street registered vehicles- creates big problems that moab needs to address so they can get to and from the trails (I will e-mail the concern to one of their economic developement guys I know), but might I ask, hopefully without some of you wanting to...

    BLM Advisory Council positions open

Noticed in todays paper an announcement of 5 positions open on the BLM's Resource Advisory Council for Utah. Sounds like something the more knowledgable members of the crew here should look at getting on. Paper refers those interested to the BLM offices or web site (www.ut.blm.gov) who...

    trailer hitch

Any suggestions of a business that does a good job on mounting trailer hitches that minimize interference off-road? So many standard set-ups sit so far below the bumper but something better must be out there. FYI I drive an 03 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

    good tires???

That answers what was going to be my next question. So, what is the vote for the best tire for our real world of highway daily driver, rocks and snow, mud and ice. Obviously looking for the "do everything well, nothing perfectly" tire. Suggestions??

    New Cooper STT?

I have run Coopers on several vehicles. Not hard core off-roading with them, but a great mud and snow tire for deer hunting. No quality issues I know of and certainly not a small brand then Toyo. Pearson's is off of main and about 2200 south if memory serves.

    track width legality

Sorry I don't remember what day it ran- probably roughly a week or 10 days ago. I think it was on the front of the B (local) section. Talked about the laws regarding lifts- how high the frame can be off the ground for diffrent weight vehicles etc.

    track width legality

One thing all should keep in mind is that just because you pass inspection does not make it legal and that it passed is not all that likely to work as a defense either. Alot of guys doing the inspections either don't understand the rule or don't really care if it not a problem they can charge...

    someone should write a book

Alot of questions are asked about trails in northern and central utah- and alot of you know them well. It would be great if some brain power was put together and a book with maps, trail discriptions etc published for areas close here to the city. I would be interested in one.

    Thanks for previous advice

If any of you have a long enough memory, you may recall last summer when I tossed out a question or two on selecting a family friendly SUV for around town and moderate off-road (most the discussion ended up on GC vs Disco). Anyway, finally made a purchase of an '03 Mitsubishi Montero Sport...

    who else lives in TOOELE?

Now for Grantsville to chime in. Most the canyons heading into the Stansbury range have roads in them, beautiful drive, nothing real rough that I have found yet. The higher part of the range is all wilderness, and the foothills private. But South Willow (gravel), North Willow, Davenport and...

    Yellowstone snowmobile ban

A lilttle good news I just read- a federal judge overturned the Clinton-era snowmobile ban as politically driven and illegal. Good to see a positive step for access!

    What are we up against?

If the writer of that info is as well informed on the facts as they are on their spelling, there is not much there to believe. I would think that most of the general public is going to look at a site like that with weary eye when is makes off-roaders into attempted murders and thugs. I do...
