It will be interesting to see what folks end up doing with the DIY tent.. I'd imagine it's not long before someone Is basically making their own wildernest type truck cap.
Too cool.. Pop top tent on the FJ55 maybe? Haha..
I posted this thread while standing at Autozone looking at the compressor.. Looks like there is a $20 rebate off of the $59 pricetag.. Thought i'd see what the group thinks.
I was blown away at how well I-80 west was moving this morning.. I expected the worste, but got to work in 25-30mins over the normal 10mins. Instead of hitting I-15NB from I-80, I took the 13th S. exit.. I-15NB looked like a parking lot..
I'd love to track down the custom buggy that Paul and I built.. From what I remember it got passed on to douche face with the rest of Rock Logic.. Which bums me out cause that was more or less a gift to Von and Carl for being awesome.
I don't even have photos of the buggy
I've seen uber budget RTT's as well.. The idea of getting up off the ground level doesn't have to be expensive..
double cot tent secured to roof when in use:
Or, build a retractable drawer under the roof rack, and pull it out when you want to set up your regular ground tent:
Great write-up Kurt.
I want to add that there is a DIY style RTT coming out soon as well. This is to attempt to cut cost of a new shipped unit from another country. A guy on ExpeditionPortal has been in developement phases for some time, and has now contracted with Utah's very own Kirkhams...
Anyone catch the story tonight about the guy who got shot is now being investigated for molesting a young girl in a neighborhood that he used to live in?
Makes ya wonder if he enjoyed neighborhood watch because he got to keep an eye on the females in the neigborhood? Maybe I'm reading into it...
I want to say it was an off-shoot Ed's push..
Yep.. Saw the report on KUTV (watch the news report.. about halfway in they show a map of where he got stuck)
The fact that you took issue with Kurt's "AKA Mr Cruiser dude" post the way you did. To enjoy a Toyota doesn't make one less patriotic for it.
Hate to say it, but if there's someone here who knows Toyota's history/lineage too well, it's going to be Kurt.
