Looking for advice/ideas, as I'm not too happy with where things are landing. One of the big disadvantages to this linkage setup is how far the axle swings left to right during articulation. I got my leading arms both tacked together and then went to mounting the coilovers to the chassis. A...

I hope so but I really don't know man, I have a lot of travel and other obligations the next month or so. Plus, I'm not going to be able to make the Moab Rocktober Crawl trip this year as i'll be in CO for a wedding. I don't like that that's my answer but that's my answer... We'll see.

Thanks. I hope so... My biggest fear is I make all these changes and then later wish I hadn't haha. This whole experiment on CG/roll axis should be interesting having some down travel now.

So I was trying to map out how I was going to move the frame in to avoid the pinion at passenger side high and then I thought, "hey, I have a nice prebent piece of tubing..." Cut the old front wishbone in half and trimmed down one of the bends until it fit nicely. I'll do some final cleaning...

Update time... Made the rear upper links Since I shifted the axle link tower over I had to plug/weld the original mounting holes for the diff cover in both the tower and cover and redrill. Cleaned/painted everything, added gear oil, then finally got the axle back on the tires, installed...

Agreed, they're no locker. These Torsen type style LSDs are pretty cool in how robust they are and in how they operate, kind of weird to wrap your head around. In terms of being disappointed with them I think I just need to define my expectations ha. I have my buggy, so I don't need to build...

    Gawynz Manche Thread

This past weekend I had a day with no plans so I figured I'd wander around the salvage yard, turned out to be a pretty successful day. Picked up a clean pair of front fenders off of a 1993 Cherokee. Then found a complete Dana 30, high pinion, non-CAD, large u-joint axle out of a 1997...

I appreciate that. I was actually able to find a complete D30 this past weekend. I'll keep the TJ flares in mind, but I can't decide how much I like that look; I was thinking it might be fun to make some tube flares for it but we'll see.

This is Manch. It's a 1990 Jeep Comanche; 4.0 (Renix), AX-15, NP231, shortbed, with a kick ass camo(?) paint job... I'd been looking for some time for a small, fun, 4x4 to use as a daily driver/back road and mountain road explorer/mild-ish wheeling rig. I wanted something fairly capable...

Yeah, i think you're right; I think with less lower triangulation I'd get less rear steer. It's a compromise I guess, better/stronger side to side axle location at the cost of rear steer. I'll give it a shot and see how it works, if it's awful it shouldn't be too big of a deal to relocate the...

The we like to wheel not build , buggy rebuild thread

This is rad, watching. I'm digging the chopped sami back end. Can you explain a bit more how you're mounting your front, lower, chassis side links? If I understand it right, it'll be - bolt through misalignment spacers/heim then directly into the threaded bung you put in the frame, is that...

    Gawynz Buggy Thread

It's been a while since my last update. Throughout June I remodeled two bedrooms in my house and built a dog kennel/run, now back to making progress on the buggy. I needed to settle on a driveshaft before I went much further... I didn't like the idea of running a superflex joint on a two...
