Why go to all the trouble of the shave and not cut the gear? Not a huge difference but you don't hurt strength and every little bit of clearance is a good thing

I used the TMR kit. A nice kit. I am sure it will be worth the extra work if the stalled project I am using it on ever gets completed. Many say it's not worth the extra effort over just grinding, but the gains are obvious when comparing the two side by side.

I upgraded from mountain lion to Sierra and now RME comes up. I don't like it though. I think every new OS gets worse with apple these days. Everything looks hideous.

I'm pretty sure any 70s era waggy/Jtruck or chevy dana 44 knuckle will work. Up until 78 or so they will be flattops and will work great for hysteer.

Keep your stock axles for now. The first thing you should be swapping out is the transmission. Be on the lookout for a T18 with a 6.5 to 1 granny gear (some will not have it so verify before you buy). I would also want to get disc brakes up front pronto. There is plenty of how to info out...
