same here. And when the gen2 came out, everything i ready was that it was only marginally improved. most of those changes we cosmetic. I also grew up about 5 miles from the S&W headquarters back in Springfield, so that *may* have had something to do with my decision.
I know this welder isnt the best, but its something, especially since i have access to a "big boy" welder.
Some day, i'll step up and get something bigger.
In regards to welder thicker stuff, I have access to the machine that my friend stepped up to, Miller211(?). So for the axle work and brackets, the bigger machine will be used. I plan on using this for the unibody stiffeners, tube work, etc.
I apologize in advance for all the questions.
I picked this little guy up a few months back from a buddy of mine; Lincoln Weldpak 3200hd. He kept the regulator and bottle for the machine that he was stepping up to, so I need to track down both, as well as any other odds and ends to get this...
Teraflex/Falcon guy here; this is concerning. If you are not already in contact with someone about this, please shoot me an email.

Started cutting stuff off, and figuring out where the frame stiffeners go tonight. Im gonna be welding the long arm brackets to the frame, and then fitting the stiffeners around them; I feel Like this is going to provide the strongest “chassis” moving forward, as the brackets will be fully...
lol its actually done; i'm just taking my time releasing pictures. #contentcreator #doitforthegram
i picked up a long arm system for it last night; went with Clayton brackets and Iron Man arms. I thought about desiging my own stuff, and building one from scratch, but that seemed like alot more...
Hover mode: achieved
Spent an hour or two getting the front end out from under the niner this weekend. It surprisingly went quite smoothly; no broken bolts, no stripped bolts. There’s a power steering leak somewhere, which made everything a bit nasty.
nothing against WeRock, other than its a hike to get to some of the events. If it were a Utah series, everything would be within a few hours, vs a day to get there and a day to get back
yea this one really bums me out. This is our Memorial Day tradition, as it is for quite a few other people. and i get that Big is trying to draw us down in July to CC, which i will try to make, but the weekend before is the 4th, and we already have travel plans, so taking more time off might not...
low pinion dana 30 out of a 1998 Grand Cherokee (ZJ), complete with steering, and brakes, 3.73 gears. pulling it out to swap in tons.
make me an offer if you pull it, make me a higher offer if i pull it.
Not sure what you’ve got on there now, but anything will be an improvement over stock. One thing you could do that would really soften up the ride is to put a 2door shocks on a 4 door Jeep; its kinda got a 'comfy couch' feel to it
i went with DBmetalworx; they have a full front to back system with great reviews. I'm not against fabbing up my own stuff, but in some cases, its easier to just click the "buy it now" button, and get it delivered; comes down to time vs money, (not that i have much of either)...
