Went for a slow ride in Mexico today...

I've thought about it, but every time I do, I remember this:

I wanted to fly fighter planes. Probably the result of the Top Gun movie on an impressionable High School kid. The recruiter told me I was too tall. Being 18 and naive, I believed him. I have since met many taller pilots... At any rate, things have worked out okay overall.

IMO, it really needs to be a tall and skinny tire. 255 preferable to a 285.

I don't recall ever hearing of a failure with the A.D.D. in past models. I've never had a failure, but then I kept the engines stock, gearing stock, and at most just an inch or two larger tires. They were just coming into use when I was a Master Tech at a Toyota dealer. I watched the TFL video...

Here's how I'm feeling at the moment, as a Toyota fanboy since the 80's. I'm not liking the wheel flares that don't extend all the way to the bottom of the wheel wells. It looks stupid, but the RAV4 has the same look. I'm not big on the short space behind the seats, if you want the floor...

I'd also like to know gear ratios in the Diffs, Transmission and T-case. Is the part-time T-case the VF2BM? Such as what's in the 5th gen 4Runner with the dial T-case shifter? Any word on fuel tank capacity?

I like the sound of the rear axle being a 9.5". IIRC, that was what the FZJ80 I had was. Whatever failed in the A.D.D. on the TFL Tacoma, is still disconcerting to me.

I still would like to know exactly what failed on TFL's Tacoma. They said it was a problem with the A.D.D., but what exactly? I'm assuming the new 4Runner will have the same parts, so I'd like to know what failed, and what they did to fix it. @cruiseroutfit, do you have any info on that?

At least for the 4Runner, I'm sure the Hybrid power train is only on a few select models. Just like the Tacoma.
