I use Tivoli here but we're talking about 250TB backups. For your range/scope of backup, I prefer Brightstor Arcserve over Veritas Backupexec. BE is a bit more user friendly, but not nearly as stable/reliable in my experience as AS. Forget about DDT strategies with BE, a single backup will leave...

Get a couple of hockey pucks for each side. Slide them through the coil, JB weld them together and to the base. Each puck gives about 1" extension.

I've had to mercy kill a mouse stuck to a glue trap, the thing had torn away skin struggling to get free. They are just too cruel of a method of killing IMO. Regular old trap with the right bait and correctly set ensures a quick and painless death.
