I think it'll be a big seller for sure, but it's kinda like comparing a full sized Blazer to a TJ. If anything slows sales, it's going to be that engine. With the Fed's mandated corporate mileage rules, I'm afraid that engine will be the only option for a while.

I think DC mad a bad choice to drop the LJ as it was and instead offer this one as an addition to the line up. But then again, I'm sure hoping the resale on the LJ's goes sky high like it did on the Scramblers.

The most we'll get is the 318... people ***** about not getting a HEMI but they dont realize what 350 horsepower does to a 1/3ish ton vehicle.

Here's a chop my friend put together, the Mud-terrains are supposed to be about 37" or so. He's designing bumpers for them as well, check out his website at www.exp-one.com.

The Rubicon models (when they let them leave the plant???) are going to have Dana 44's front and rear, electric (not pneumatic) locking diffs, 4.10 gears, 4:1 t-case and an in-cab swaybar disconnect similar to the Power Wagons). All Unlimiteds (4-doors) will have the new Dana 44 rear, and the 2-door JK's come standard with the new Dana 35 (no c-clip).

There is a silver 4-door at D'Ambrosio on State and 2300 S., it's a "X" model, auto, hardtop and sticker was something like $26,350.

Enjoy!

Nice chop! RE has theirs also to do R/D for their kits. I'm very interested in picking one of these up in the next 1-2 years.

i do think it's about time Jeep did something like this... abit overdue... but man, i really think the styling is ugly... too, armored vehicle esque doors and lines... but built up, that'll be a sweet wheelbase for a Jeep... my 4runner is 114" as well...

I like the new Wrangler. Id buy one if it had a V8, not the Hemi though.

Curious, what don't you like about the Hemi? I don't know engines at all but doesn't that just refer to the shape of the combustion chamber? I always hear of people wanting them. What is your take on them?

PS. Just read what I wrote and could be construed as combatitive and let me assure you it is not. I really want to know as I am hoping they come out with a V8 in them next year so I can justify buying one.

While driving his back from Michigan to Burbank, and not yet broke in, Kilby said the motor had more power than his 4.0 in his Unlimited (not that he drove that in that configuration a lot).

The red one looks good, I could drive that. There's something in the new style that makes it resemble an H3 in some ways, don't really care for that at all. But unlike an H3, it is capable and that's what it's all about anyways.

Oh, you mean the tallish body with the small windows and the hard angular lines........... Nah.....

(I like the red one----but it'd need to be a different color----37" is a LOT of tire for a D44 with that much weight)
