Meh I don't care lol

normally the IPR just goes out.. The IPR is serviceable (apart from the solenoid) and I can't seem to find just the solenoid anywhere..
I saw a post on another forum of a guy that was having cinda the same problem and it was his HPOP..

The torque app will show the IPR duty cycle, HPOP psi, and you will need to fallow a few steps when you get the app for it to read most of the sensors on a powerstroke..

Probably a stupid question...have you changed your oil lately?

Oil changed religiously. We wondered about that but there doesn't seem to be a correlation in my case. The app will rock, that will help with diagnosing it.

Love the readout you posted.

I carry a new IPR (and ICP and CPS and...), so I'll swap the solenoid first when it happens again.

Sounds complicated, HPOP or IPR or CPS or PCM or even a OBD2 but i may be interested in the 7.3 IC for my 88 12V CTD R/P so it will be more reliable like my 90 12V CTD LOL

Thanks to a awesome mother inlaw and Colton,
look what I brought home today...

picked up this hole dash setup, frame and axle setup from the junk yard..

Anyone know what lift this is? And is anything missing apart from the Ubolts and coils and such.. I have em,there just not on the axle. (Apart from the Ubolts and shocks)

There more of a orange copper color.. (Same color as the truck)

i think it's a 2.5" lift, levels the front and the block in the rear puts it back up...but I'm thinking leave the lift blocks out and have a fancy leveling kit lol

but I'm going to paint everything white.

The front suspension design of the chassis your brought home was, perhaps, the worst design Ford ever built into a heavy duty truck. Take that with a grain of salt as I really don't care for Ford Super Duty's. But, the design gave the Ford death wobble and that was something new to the Super Duty. I am unaware of the Super Duty ever having death wobble before that design. The large radius arms also do a horrible job of locating the axle from twisting during hard accelerations. Not that the leaf springs were much better but, you would not get near the axle hop from the leaf springs as you do from the newer radius arms. Watch a youtube video of that model truck sled pulling and you can see the front axle hop. The design was bad enough that the aftermarket redesigned the suspension and replaced the radius arms with four separate links. Think Dodge Heavy Duty suspension design here. Also, I know that for some reason the Ford 6.0 Power Stroke engine was heavier than the older 7.3 Power Stroke. I am not sure why but they are a good 100+ pounds heavier. Not that will mean much to you just keep that in mind that the front end of your truck with the newer model suspension may ride rougher than you thought.

On a more serious note I am super disappointed that I did not see your Bronco in the Top Truck Challenge voting. Did you not submit it? Quit spending money on the tow rig and finish the Bronco! That's an order private!

Don't plain on pulling a sled anytime soon. Lol

anything can get death wobble... My buddy's dodge 2500 is fighting it now.. And this kit has duel stabilizers witch would help in not getting it.

Radius arms, not the best design but has little to do with axle hop.. I have seen ford,Chevy, dodge, Toyota, 4 link, 3link,radius arm, ect, have wheel hop under load. Just happens..

The main reason I wanted these axles cus they do ride a better and turn sharper then the leaf spring setup.

Yeah, I didn't enter this year.. I want it done with seat time and have coil overs&cromos and some money saved up before I go.

I worked out out a special deal to get these...$400 I couldn't pass it up and I have a awesome mother inlaw to loan me the money and I'll pay her back when I sell my old ones lol :)

Death wobble can happen to any vehicle but, that was a non issue with the old leaf sprung Super Duty's. Death wobble for Ford didn't happen as frequently until Ford went away from the leafs. A shame in my opinion. Ford really did have a dead reliable suspension prior to coils. Heck, Ford had the best turbo Diesel package at that time. Oddly enough I used to own a 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty and it was a great truck. Not without some issues but, still a good truck. Dodge does have issues with death wobble as well. Again, they use coil springs and not tried and true old school leafs.

A more nimble tow rig is a great idea. Can't bash that at all.

Tow rig works as is at this time, yes? And the Bronco is still side lined awaiting for finishing touches. Shame, shame. I was wanting to vote for you and the Bronco.

I'm starting on the dash swap,

Last night was testing the wires for the headlights and got it all sorted out and everyone kept saying you can't wire up the newer OEM radio to the older harness..

H
After some research and testing and such I don't see why it won't.

Thanks Bart!

Start off with finding a good complete dash skin and take all the plugs for the headlights and radio and anything thing else you think you might need.

The parts from the new dash you will need are the fallowing..
(all the ducting behind the dash (heater assembly is the same)
(All the screws)
(Headlight switch)
(Passenger air bag)
(Radio with plug if you want to wire up the OEM one)
(The cup holder)
(Glove box door)
And anything else you can think of lol

Old,
20140216_134305_zps3b9b37ea.jpg

A 9/32 wrench&socket and a flex joint will be your best friend during this swap lol

When these dash's where built they had the everything hooked up and put the hole dash and wiring harness and duckt work in at once so there are 3 screws that are a real mother to get too,
The first two hold the defrost ducting on the left and right of the dash, the other is to the left of the glove box.. I found it easier to unbolt the frame of the dash and let the steering wheel rest on the seat to get to these easier. (The dash frame is a 10mm socket and there are two on each side and one cinda in the middle.)

Once you have taken out all the screws the shell of the dash will pop off and I was able to get the old one and new one over the steering wheel without removing it..

20140216_141916_zps2defec04.jpg

Next up was cleaning up the new ducting and wiring stuff that was very nasty....I used a blow gun and a bunch of wet wipes..
20140216_145018_zpscc539567.jpg

Then start placing it all back together with the 05-07 dash..and run your Upfitter harness now if your going to run the switches.
New,
20140216_161514_zps58c0afc2.jpg

(NOTE, THE OLD DASH USED SCREWS FOR GOING INTO PLASTIC GOING AROUND THE GLOVE BOX, THE NEW DASH USES THE NORMAL SCREWS CUS IT GOES INTO A METAL CLIP)
The new passenger air bag and glove box bolt right in with no problem. But if your running the up fitter switches you might need to drill a 1/4" hole in the dash frame for the relay box.
20140216_173446_zps0c87784e.jpg

Now your onto wiring. :)

The head light switch was easy, I was hoping to just re pin the plugs but the ends are a different size so just had to use connectors..
The wiring is the same and just wire it up as such,
(NOTE,)the old harness has a white wire with red stripe and two black with violet stripe wires.. The white is for the dinger for when you leave your lights on and I'm not sure about the black ones, (most likely a ground)
But there not needed for the function of the headlight switch.

The new plug is the same apart from a blue/white that is used for the auto lights (not sure how to wire that up or what's involved) and a yellow&black&brown (the yellow and black is for the fog lights witch my truck dose not have yet) not sure about the brown.

The wires not used I just shrink wrapped the ends.
20140216_125223_zps446c66b3.jpg

The one thing I found out on the 4x4 switch was despite having the same wiring but different plugs the switch functions are also different.
I wired up the new switch and plug and found that it was stuck in 4high in 2wd and 4high was 4low and 4low was nothing.
So I wired back in the old plug and mounted the old switch on the new panel and there is a small alignment pin on the old switch you will need to cut flush but the bolt pattern is the same. Easy and done.
20140216_200906_zps5e22503d.jpg

The radio,

The chart I posted earlier worked good but had to run a switched 12v source to the pink wire on the new plug and the radio works perfectly,6 disc CD player was installed and the 05-07 dash frame had two brackets that will sit flush against where the CD player will mount but I didn't want to mess with that so I just used big self taping screws to hold it into place cus I want a touch screen DVD player with back up camera.

If you get the dash face that has the AC controls cut out you will not need to change a thing, if you get one like mine with the controls built in you only need to rotate the motor speed plug and the vacuum line plug and they clip right in and so dose the rest.

Difference between them. (I have the wood grain style if anyone is intreated in buying it lol)
20140215_190219_zps23f427cc.jpg

The only problem I can see with this swap is the new gauge opening is slightly smaller and barley obstructs the view of the lights on the left side of the gauge cluster.(can still see them looking straight down, just slightly in the way)

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.

I must say, at first I was thinking the amount of work wasn't worth it...but boy it is.

its just so easy on the eyes and makes everything else look better and man the stereo is crazy loud lol

the lights for my headlight switch stopped working and I'm thinking the bulb burnt out?
Have not messed with it yet but it's not a big deal..
