Question for Bart (or anyone else involved in the event): I once heard that KOH has a list of the competitors in the event and the (major) hardware they are running. For example, you can see which competitors run ARBs, which ones run Ox lockers, etc. Is this true? If so, where can I find this info?

It's kind of in the brochure they handed out, but not sure where to find it online. BTW, some guys fibbed on their specs.

Bryson, that's blows that you layed off due to time......considering the course difficulty and number of rigs, it would have been nice to see more time alotted.

What's the KOH environment like, is it a crazy party?

I was wondering the same thing. I've had friends go and they didn't enjoy it because the part they camped in was partying like crazy. After talking to kurt, it sounds like there are places that aren't insane.

That's good to hear that there is some variety. KOH is on my bucket list for sure but I was worried that I would be like a fish out of water with all the partying going on around me.

I'd love to go there, hit some trails, watch some ridiculous buggies do crazy stuff and hang out.

If your looking to run trails, I'd say KOH week is the last time I would suggest. Not only do they have events running all week but you'll be competing for the trails with 10,000 others. I'd recommend you go to the race to enjoy and participate in the race, plan another trip to wheel.

What Kurt said. Hammertown is like a city. There are some parties at different pits, but mostly its a crew there to make sure the race rig(s) are ready. Kurt, Jon, Nate, Jason, Cody and their crew were camped next to us and there was one night we might have gotten a little loud for them. We made 2 walks in 8 days down to the main fire and it was pretty calm down that way. I'm sure there were some wild parties but they must have been on the other side of town.

Another way to see the race and wheel is to come down later on race week, watch the race, and stay for 3 or 4 days after. Camp away from Hammertown because it is a cluster after the race.
