Skyler Howes, a Utahn, is currently 4th overall in the bikes at Dakar. Only American in the top 10.That is pretty cool.

Also, Audi took a stage win today in it's all electric car. That was a big surprise to me.

His Dakkar stage results have been pretty consistent the last couple of years and it has paid off. The cost to do this race before he got the factory ride was around 70k and now he is getting paid to do it.

His Dakar results have been better than his Baja....... but maybe he has a better pit crew in Dakkar.

I see the problem with my racing every time I take a piss. My balls are 1/2 the size of the fast guys. They stand, not because it's faster, but because they can't sit down.

Just heard from Skyler.

Serious concussion, bruised heel and messed up shoulder.

Nothing major that I won’t heal from.

Bummed not to be there this year, lots of great racing legs. Next year!

Stage 8, Skylar is still in #1, with 2nd and 3rd just 13 seconds behind. Top 12 guys are all within 2 minutes of eachother.

Blows my mind that after 8 days of racing that the times can be that close.

He's now 2nd overall, down by 1 minute, 29 seconds.
