TimB said:I was a Utah transplant - from Oklahoma by way of Wyoming. I loved it there. Wish I was still there about every day - check the note under my name to the left. When I say I'm homesick, I'm thinking of Utah - not Oklahoma. Moab feels like my home now and I miss it.
I really loved it in Moab in the 80's - quiet and the cost of living was cheap. It cost a lot more now but I have a lot of friends that were starving back then and are doing pretty well now..... so I won't wish another bust on them.
My job has moved me many times - like 9 I think. You know how to be happy in a new location? Submerge yourself in whatever is going on in the new place. Do what everybody else does there for fun. Before you know it your content and having fun.
Drag your old ways along and you will never be happy. For example I love wheeling in the desert - there's no desert here though so I don't care much for it here. It's only temporary though, my family situation will change in 5 years or so and I'll have a chance to go someplace I like more.

Am I LDS, no, do I have friends and nieghbors that are? yah, do they push on me, no and I dont get mad or push my bieliefs on them.
HOWEVER!!! The tax on food here is BULL. Alcohol laws are BULL.
Badcop said:Getting sh!tfaced and acting like a retard is a freedom givin right and everyone, regardless of beliefs should be able to get full point alcohol/beer at the mini mart and get fershickened.

Barbie said:Is there any other state that has to bring up the dominate state religion in EVERY conversation that you have with a native. It seems to be such a major concern that you find out a persons religion almost right off the bat in this state. I am not sure if this goes on anywhere else, but when I lived in Colorado, religion of an individual was either never known or cared about. It is amazing how much of an issue it is out here.
Yes, there are tons of meth labs in Grand Junction and in the Vail Valley. Sucks

What I like better is when they don't bother to find out, they just start talking to you like you are one.
