I NEVER touch a grinder without gloves on. I won't allow anyone in my garage to do it either.

I gotta say, I was tempted by the Ryobi model with the "trigger" switch. But I figured Shawn would beat me up. :D

I would have beat you up if you had gotten the Ryobi...they suck...we tried them at my old shop and we went through three in less than a week, oh and their crappy chop saw in the same week...all were replaced with dewalt or rigid (the rigid chop saw is pretty damn nice)

I figured it couldn't be that great, the expensive one was 39 bucks. I really liked that switch setup though, same as most 7" grinders.

thats a good idea, I am just usually too lazy to get gloves on, I used to wear the mechanix gloves all the time while working but they get so dirty and I didn't want to get my grinder dirty:D

I just by those cheap leather work gloves in bulk. I have hit my fingers too many times. Plus, when I had a 7" grinder, it really helped with the vibration.

I've had my Hitachi for years, its been a good grinder... It was used when I got it, end of job special... Oh and yes, I wear gloves also when grinding, took out a thumb once...

OK, I'll add my .02 here even though this thread is beat to death.....

I went through 2 Makita's in two years, and replaced the second one with a cheap HF and it's still going strong, amazing.

I inherited my grampa's 9" monster and I won't use it, the very thought of it binding up and throwing me across the shop and cutting off my arm and tossing it along as an afterthought isn't very appealing....

Plus the dang thing weighs like 20 pounds.

It's nice to get a power tool and get a nice case to put it in (big plus for Dewalt).
