so I finished the axle rebuild yesterday and got the the truck back on all fours. I haven't been taking to many many pics sorry.. Also the truck sits more level then I thought with the 37s on the frame height is 25.5 on the rear and the front it is 25. Moved my wheel base from 103 to about 107, mostly caused by moving front axle forward.
still have a lot to do:
Hysteer
put in and move forward ifs steering box
install t-case gears
finish welding everything
Figure out shock mounts for the front
install cb stuff
get rear bumper and sliders on
Put new in header and fix the rest of the exhaust.
I think that sums it up...
It will be close but I think I might be ready for Easter.
my rear shackle is sitting about like yours. I think I'm going to add a 4th leaf once the sas is done on mine. Looking good man, hopefully you can get it done soon.
Also I have sold those 37's and ordered my 35 km2's should be able to pick them up the start of next week. Although I really liked the 37's with my gearing I don't think they would have been practical. I think I will be happier with 4.88 and 35's.
In my experience, 37's made my vehicle a lot more capable than 35's, even though it's only an inch in ground clearance. They roll over things better and they contact the obstacle higher up. But for your purposes you'll be fine.
Mounted my steering box drilled the frame and mounted the plates, pulled old pit man arm and put on new one. The reason for moving it forward is to have a good steering angle because useing ruf springs the axle moves forward so you move the steering box to compensate . Here is my steering angle now.
just picked up my tires went with a 35x12.5x15 BFG km2 with the black rims 2in back spaceing with a welded on rock ring... Needless to say everything work out for the best with my tire and rim situation
well I got a ton done today I filled all my fluids, bled my brakes, installed my gas tank and new skid plate for it, painted my rims (satin Black) got tires on. I also trade some stuff to a guy to install my 4.7 gears not that I couldn't it would just take me forever because I have never done it. I flexed it out to measure for shocks and bump stops.
still have a lot to do..
1.I need to build my front drive line square
2. trim fender flares
3. Sliders, Bumper
I am having World Wide off-road do my sliders and rear bumper thursday. I have a front bumper That will work already.
4. install CB and but antenna
5. order shocks, bump stop extensions
6. drive it around to work out the bugs
7 give it a alignment
8 finish exhaust
9 mud flaps
That's a good looking 4runner, Brandon. It makes me miss my old Runner. Mine was that clean in the beginning. (before I rolled it and decided I didn't care any more) I need to come check it out soon.
