85 4runner build

Sweet man, I've always been a fan of your 4runner , and with the changes to come it'll be even better.

Well the front tcase that I referenced to as a crawl box is just a high/low box . Then you have the dualcase adapter that connects it your regular tcase with high/low and 2wd/4wd. The twin stick goes on the rear case to make the high/low work independent of 2wd/4wd.

So in effect you'll have a double-low independent of 4wd. lol, who needs brakes? :D

Well on my way to Arizona I was able to pick up my new Transfer Case.
It is a 21 spline top shift gear driven that will be made into my crawl box

Also I have been searching for the match box 1985 4runner for months now and came across it down here. My wife was relieved I finally found one, because I was driving her nuts looking for it, and told buying online was for quitters.

Well I finally got around to playing with my new parts from the trail-gear group buy.
I Cleaned up my T-case I bought and built my crawl box. The crawl box was super easy to put together, except for the new snap ring TG provides. That Ring was the only hang up. It turned out looking really clean too. More to come soon!

I am moving my window switches from my center console to my dash.
I started by extended my switch wires I cut and added 4ft of wire, soldered, and heat shrink.
Then punched new holes in my dash for them
It turned out great

I finished up installing new transmission, dual case, TG Cross member, and new clutch. Everything went super smooth.

I ended up hating my driveline I made. It only took one trip to slc to decide a little vibration was bad. I had sixstates re-tube the driveline and balance it.

Also my truck front seal started bleeding oil so I bought the seal kit to fix it.
I ended up buying a timing chain cover gasket kit because you get more for your money. Things I needed front seal, oil o-ring, and speed sleeve for the pulley

This is the new sleeve installed on the pulley

Oil pump the outside groove is where the new O-ring goes

Need to get my truck ready for hole in the rock this week.
To do list:
Front bump stops
pull rear drive line and get it fixed
change the oil in the trans, and transfer cases (this was the first trip since new tranny and duals)
check, and tighten bolts around the truck
Figure out why my cb sucks...

Driveline ended up being fine just scrapped up. The real vibrations were coming from my diff.
