So, here is just an FYI for anyone wanting to run JT's (justdifferentials) solid pinion spacer on their 9.5" 3rds:
****Make sure you measure your crush sleeve to ensure you get the correct solid spacer. ***
They sell two spacers. One for 90 and earlier rigs with a measurement of 2.170" and for 91+ years that are 2.090".
Well, both of my 3rds came out of FJ62s. Both are 4.10s and they both came out of FRONT axles. Well, I ordered the correct spacers off their website for 90 and older rigs, and neither one will work. They are too long. So, evidently I need the later model ones. At first they claimed that I "must have FJ-80 3rds". Well, no that isn't possible considering they came out of FRONT axles. Then, they claim that only .1% of 3rds would use the other spacer and that 99.9% of them use the 90 and older spacer. Some BS about variances in each 3rd member. I'm still not buying it.
But, I guess I must have TWO of the ".1% of 3rds in the country".
Anyway, for those guys running FJ60 3rds, just order the shorter solid pinion spacer to play it safe.
I went ahead and set the front 3rd up with a crush sleeve and will tear it down to put in the correct solid spacer when it shows up.
