ok i went up on Sunday and the silver lake road and the loop road are closed. I went up to mineral basin and got to where the road forks to go to midway. Just a little past the fork to the left the road had broken snow banks as far as i could see. People have made it past them by plowing threw them but i was in a stock blazer and didn't want to get stuck. The right fork went just a little past the fork and then the road was covered in snow. I did go up the grave yard flats road and it was pretty open up there with 1 camp. I went down the trail till i hit some snow and got stuck but a little gas and drive/reverse action got me going again. The canyon was really not that packed like in the past. The main trail up to Mineral basin wasn't bad at all just a few wet spots but not bad at all.

This is the only pic i have. It was taken on a camera phone so the image is in mirror mode.

Is milkmaid any fun?

Its short, but a great run... it can be done in a couple of hours round-trip from Tibble Fork. Combine it with a hike to Silver Lake or Silver Glance and its a great run IMO. There was some considerable mining that took place in the area, the history of that is enough to draw me to the trail over and over. I didn't get a chance to run it in 06', so I'm looking forward to running it again this season.
