Some of the local bike guys (motoutah) are doing a service project on the single track there on Saturday. One of them hiked it earlier this week and got about a 1/4 mile before snow. They are working on the s-turn at the bottom.
Thanks for the heads up Kurt, I'm going to try to make that.

the river was super high. In some parts it was only a foot below the elevation of the road.

I just talked to the PG ranger station. They said that UDOT is trying to get the alpine loop road open by mid June. When I asked about any of the dirt trails, she said at least a few weeks due to snow and rock falls.

a few of us will be running that sunday. we'll be camped out in the area sat. night.
Well decided to venture up AF canyon yesterday as did alot of other wheelers. Lots of water and mud in some places. I made it up to the rock garden but the runner decided to crap out on me in the middle of it 
It has been like 2 years since i have been up and man how it has changed still love it though still a nice place to go IMO heres a pic of the garden

A group of us were up there also, we were the Ines replacing a steering box in the rock garden.

Hey, I was up there too with two other TJ's. The steering box crapping out on that XJ could not have been a fun fix at all. I feel bad for that guy.

sweet thanks for the tool usage. and yup we got him fixed and back down.
i wasn't bad really, the worst part was him laying in the cold stream.

It was only what, 15-20 mins out, and 20-30 mins back in? I ran him into town to get a new box and all the way back up and I was home in Riverton by 7. Not bad at all.
