Thanks for the map info. Like I said I've never been up there, I meant Silver Lake Flats. Hope to see some of you on the trails. I have the black JKU with Black Bear instead of Rubicon on the hood. Thanks again!

The road up to silver lake is open, but you can't go past the parking lot on the north end of the lake.... The gate is closed & locked

We drove all the way up to Silver Lakes Flat today. Caught half dozen rainbows. Beautiful day now paying for not putting the sunscreen on.

I was out fishing for 4 hours on Thursday without any sunscreen, the hat helped but still got the reflected rays off the water, nothing that kept me awake at night though. A few years back I did however get a bad sunburn on the tip of my nose that cracked and bled, and even got a bit up inside my nostrils. Combined with sneezing fits from allergies it made for a very rough week.

Sorry, but there is nothing up AF Canyon even worth bringing a buggy to. A good driver can do every obstacle up there with 33's and no lockers, I used to do it all the time in the black Jeep. It's a scenic, fun trail system that's a nice break away from the heat of summer.
Agreed on all counts . But I do enjoy a leisurely ride in the Truggy sometimes . Don"t like to beat it within an inch of its life every time out. It"s just so convenient being little more than a mile from the house and all.

well, i went up this weekend and drove forest lakes a couple times. once on sat and again on sunday, they were selling 3 day passes at the booth so why not.

it was my first time, awesome trail for a stock yota! didn't have any trouble with bald 32's and open difs :)

saw several toy trucks and runners, jeeps, and a couple bronco's. def a busy weekend.

The NAXJA Intermountain Chapter has a planned run on June 15th. Anyone know what the trail conditions are like in Mineral Basin? I suspect some snow........

FWIW, the passes are always 3-Day passes. :)

I just need someone to lead as it would be my first time up. From what I've seen my stock JK will make it I'll just have to choose wisely. Plus that means I can take lots of pics as people try the harder stuff.

which trails are you thinking of cunnart? There are a couple trails up there, and quite a few dirt roads to explore.

Lots of stuff to explore up there. There is a group of us heading over the top into Midway for National Get Outdoors Day this Saturday. Just dirt road driving, all 2wd, but scenic if you wanted to join us and get a taste of what the canyon is kinda like.
