My wonderful wife Angela was in need of a kidney transplant when
she suffered not one but 2 strokes. We do have a donor lined up, Angie's is still making some good steady progress. Stroke 1 (March 13) she was recovering from and only in the hospital for 3 weeks. Angie was walking, talking and going about life pretty good. She was getting better at home. Stroke 2 (June 16) was much worse, this one happened in the brain stem area, plus reinjured the first stroke area in the front of her brain. She still has almost equal movement and range on both sides. She communicates by blinking and squeezing her hands. I have not heard her speak for 5 months, or seen her walk in 6 months. Angie has not been home since June 16th, she did visit for a few hours one day then returned to her care center. Yes I have insurance (Altius, Medicare) But they only cover so much for so long and by their standards. Angie also receives some money from Social Security because she is a dialysis patient. Medicaid just denied us. This fundraiser is to help out with Angies's medical bills.

Angie is now living with her parents so her mom can take care of her 24/7.

I will be adding more items and making changes to this post as this progress. I first want to thank those companies/individuals listed below that have donated items for this raffle. Here is the skinny on the lights... They are Warn SDB-105PB's. These retail for $256!!! They have been discontinued, but these are still brand new, never installed. I don't think the box has ever been opened.

SDB-105PB
10,000 Candle Power Driving/Spot Light
The SDB 105PB is a projector beam lamp. The die-cast aluminum compound elliptical reflector combines with a lens that widens and sharpens the projector fog beam. This combination achieves the cut-off necessary to reduce reflected glare and aid visibility at longer distances. An efficient vibration resistant H3 coated bulb producing amber light also helps cut through the weather.

Any driver knows a fog lamp shouldn't fog up. So the SDB-105PB uses ventilation filtering to prevent lens fogging immediately after the lamp is turned on. Rubber seals, of heat and weather resistant EPT material, seal out water and protect lamp integrity.

The die-cast aluminum body has approximately three times the heat conductivity and approximately one third the weight of more commonly used ferrous materials. This body can be adjusted up or down 15 degrees to fine-tune the illumination angle and has a rubber mounting skirt which adapts to the shape of the vehicle body.

Dedicated control switch includes relay control feature and LED illumination when lamps are in use. Compact size for easy mounting.

Just out of curiousty, how much do you need to raise, or hoping to get?

You know I truelly am only expecting about $1500. Anything beats $0. I have one bill that is $300 to the U that I will pay now this week because of money donated. Alot depends on us getting denied MedicAid and her last care center. I'm looking at $3500- $13,500 just on that, but I need to see what Medicare will do. I will have to pay $3,000 for her out pocket yearly amount. With some of the upcoming treatments that will have to be paid soon. Angie used up so much last year already. Altius alone coughed up about $450,000 last year. Heck a kidney transplant alone is about $300,000. Still gotta have one of those when she can take it.

So again, anything beats nothing and I am truelly grateful for the help that has come my way. On top of all this, I need to get checked for a ulcer, for some reason I think I have one.

That's what I thought...I don't think you're going to get anywhere near $13k with this raffle. If you do a second one, I have a brand new, freshly powder coated (black) battery box that I will donate...
On top of all this, I need to get checked for a ulcer, for some reason I think I have one.
I couldn't imagine why you would be getting one of those...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I bought Angie a new reclining wheelchair today with the money donated. This is something that is hard to come in any Care/Rehab Center. Since she has to ride in a van 3 days a week to the U for dialysis it was a very needed item for her. Words can not express how grateful I am to all those that have donated. I've been also able to pay 2 bills of from the U of U. There is talk of a HUGE garage sale in May/June.

Your Donation from my Company will be there tommarow. I am happy to see the money going to good use.

I bought tickets in a raffle held for a guy who had Cancer, Shane Beard. They fixed up his Jeep and Raffled it off, and many other smaller items that were Donated by some great companys who stepped up to help out his family in their time of need. I was lucky enough to buy the winning ticket for the Jeep, but even more lucky that I had the pleasure of meeting the people who built the Jeep, ran the Auction and were the friends of Shane, and did everything they could for him in his time of need. Shane passed away amost a year ago.
The point I am getting at is that no one ever lost sight of their goal to raise as much money as possible for the Beard's, and in the end they raised just over $63,000.00. I don't think a goal of $15,000.00 should be hard to reach at all! If everyone who reads this will just give a little it really adds up. I have.
