Northern Utah Another attempt: Mineral Basin this Thursday morning, Sept 12th

I tried to run MB last Thursday, but had to cancel due to lack of fellow 'wheelers. One of those--my friend Rich with a bone stock TJ--has committed to going out this Thursday. This will be his first trail run for him and this rig, and he wants to see how well it performs. I figure this will be a fine opportunity.

Anybody else wanna tag along? We will meet at Tibble Fork reservoir parking lot at 9:00 and plan to depart as soon as everyone has arrived.

If I were to clear up my Thursday and come how much damage could I expect? I have a 1992 Trooper with roughtly 2" suspension lift and 32" tires... Never done AF but I really want to get out more.

You'll be fine on Mineral Basin. Just watch your lines or you might put a ding in your rockers.

There were some people trapped for a short time on Saturday due to a few small slides which put mud on the road, but it was cleared and they all got out later that evening.

I replaced my fuel pump this morning and decided to hit the snakes this afternoon. My new fuel pump went out part way up rattlesnake. I will not be attending this trip. I think that I must have an electrical problem with my beater.

My father-in-law went the hospital last night. CT picked up possible tumors on brain and lungs.... Sucks.

I'm gonna stick around with the wifey tomorrow. One of these days I'll get out and learn from all of you!

Sorta. In the end, everybody dropped out except for 4x4life and myself. We parked at the reservoir and talked for 20-30 just waiting to see if anyone else might show up. When nobody did, we both decided just to call it and not head up into the mud.

I'm off again tomorrow, but after two consecutive weeks of not 'wheeling I have decided to spend my day off doing... something else.

Next week I'm wide open - wifey out of town! - and game for anything if you don't mind having someone along that doesn't know the trails but is capable behind the wheel.
