Remember there is no nitrogen in the shocks so it's a full compression. It will sit about 5" higher. The 112" wheelbase makes it look loooooong.

Yes, there's a winch between the grill and radiator. The fairlead points down.

wow!, I cant believe how fast you got that rolling. Im jealous, that thing is lookin sweet. your gear box idea looks like it worked perfect. the box looks like it was made for the buggy. 112" thats a great wheelbase. I think youl love it.
makes me want to go spend some more time in the garage, I just cant put the sled away yet.

More progress pics. The steering ram is on and gusseted, as are the front and rear axle trusses. Oh yeah, the fuel cell and the Atlas are also in. Loving the way this is turning out.

Looking good Bart, Kyle is doing some amazing work... wish I could weld like that! Is the fab work just about done? What's next, plumbing?

Yep, I bring it home this weekend and begine plumbing (fuel, brakes, tranny, cooling) and wiring. I have to mount a few things like the seats and stuff too. Also going to take the time mount a removeable windshield, removable fenders, and wire turn signals, brake lights, wipers, horn etc, in hopes of getting it licensed as a 53. Pipe dream maybe, but I've got to try.

I'd never hide from you guys. I managed to drink almost 2 whole bottles of water in that 28 hours I was there. It wasn't fun.

Just an update

Filled up the air shocks last night and loaded my baby up for its first trailer ride. She's home sitting my garage as of 9:00 last night. Lots to do, but now the ball is my court. Taking the hood and grill into my auto body classes tonight and tomorrow night. As for the buggy, I think I'll start the engine wiring this weekend. Depending on how that goes I think I'll lay out the chassis wiring after that. List of things to do but not in order by any means.

Body work on hood, grill, cowl and windshield
Cut and fab tailgate to fit rear opening
fit removable windshield
reverse manual valve body in trans
engine wiring
chassis wiring
plumb cooling
plumb steering
plumb brakes
bump stop front end
Detroit in rear axle (before I even think of moving again)
fab firewall
fab floors
mount seats
mount tool box and stereo speakers
mount trans shifter
mount t-case shifters
fab dash
fab center console
fab side panels
mount dash and gauges
lots more stuff that I'm missing

Take back to Kyles for final chassis stuff that I couldn't do or am forgetting.

Bring home, strip down and paint chassis
paint hood, grill, cowl, windshield, tail gate, and side panels

All the little stuff I'm forgetting.
I'm excited.:greg:
