anyone up for a little session in Alpine tonight? I'm thinking Lambert park around 8:20. Text me if you'd like to come. My bike will be available for others to ride.

Tyler, you come over and ride it whenever you want. I'm thinking of riding snakes this Saturday evening after the training day. Either that or Lambert park in Alpine. I think there are a few fun areas to explore there.

I may be down for some Snakes riding after the training... I may pack my bike.

I'm hoping to find an older trials bike for my trail bike. I think an old TY250/350 would rock.

most have low-end grunt, some don't. They ride like an OLD enduro, nothing like a new trials bike. Not much travel, not incredible high-speed handling, but the right one could be fun up AF canyon.

My WR is for sale for cheap :D

I'm actually thinking about modifying my WR to make it have a much lower seat height, and maybe even less travel.

How much are you selling your WR for Steve? My buddy Trevor that went to HITR with us is looking

Steve, I say modify the WR! You need a bike that can do the faster stuff. You WILL get good enough to handle the WR just fine, if that's what you're worried about. With the lower 1st and 2nd gearing and the heavy flywheel you won't have a problem doing the slower stuff while you're improving yourself! Especially learning trials skills, you'll see a large improvement in how you can ride the WR. Even with a seat height a little too tall, you can learn to handle it just fine. I have a buddy that is probably a couple inches shorter than you that had a crf450 with a shaved seat and he still had to drop off one side of the bike about 6 inches to touch the ground and hold himself up when he stopped but he got used to it and tore it up on that bike! annoying? probably a little, but I think you can get the WR low enough without too much work! my .002

(can you tell I'm a HUGE fan of the old WR's? :) )

You've made me a fan of the WRs. I don't think a lower seat height will make me actually ride it any better, but it'll help me when I dump it. I can barely start the thing on level ground. I can only imagine up AF canyon, off camber on a hill climb trying to start this thing without tipping over. I feel like this guy:

I'm going to be putting around Lambert Park (in Alpine) tomorrow night around 7:15. Anyone want to join me? I'm happy to let others ride my bike if they want to see what the trials thing is all about...

wow, I never realized that trials bikes could take the abuse of freestyle jumps like that. I wonder if they've modified their suspension to handle that???
