Just enjoying a sore throat (quite) and NO ENERGY. I've slept about 15 hours in the last 24. I assume that'll continue?

The inversion finally wore me down and that's how I woke up last Tuesday, I treated it with Airborne in the morning and Emergen-C at night with ibuprofen and Ricola as needed for throat soreness, slept an hour or two more each night and was feeling better by Saturday. I completely avoided cold and cough medicines because they make me feel worse in some ways. Good luck, it will pass in a few days. At this rate the trails should stay open for awhile so you can get out when you feel better.

Wusses! Only Jmaxj and I were there at ten-ish. We had a great time anyway. We buzzed through Rattlesnake, stopped and threw rocks in the mines, buzzed through Constrictor, stopped at the abandoned drill rig. When did they cut the cab section off that thing? Then we stopped and threw more rocks bfore running through Rsttlesnake backwards and heading home.

Any pics?

It wasn't abandoned, it was heavily vandalized, shot up and parted out. Their camper was burned and the truck destroyed. Sad to think people would do such a thing but I'm not remotely surprised st the efforts scrappers will make for some metal.

I did snap one pic. This is the front of it. You can see where someone saws-alled through the frame and removed the whole front section. There were still saws-all blades sitting there. You can see the divots in the ground where the front tires were a few weeks ago.

Wow, I can only assume it was scrappers wanting? Maybe they will be coming back for the tail section? You could tell during our visit that they had loaded a trailer with metal parts and taken them out of there, the turbo, radiator, etc were all pulled from the motor. I was there during the summer last year and it was operational and in good shape, real bummer for the owners.

It's amazing it has only been that long. The thing looks like it's been there 20 years now.

Sounds about right. I was there on several occasion (mid-week in fall 2010) when people were there working. Never did get down to talk to them but as I recall some here on RME did? This last spring/summer (May?) we stopped by and while it was vacant, it was in running shape and looked to have been used recently? I went with the AYL folks last month and it was in ruins. To top it off, there was a guy at the lower Sunshine mine (not likely its real name but the mine/tailings at the top of RS), he was loading up the big old mine trommel that has been resting on the side of the tailings for likely 50+ years. He claimed it was his families property and his mom sent him out to get it as a 'heritage for his grandfather, dud was loading the 10' long drum onto a flat bed towed by his Tacoma. He was from Wyoming and was a little shy around the cameras. I sent off my pics to the BLM's ranger but never heard back one way or another. I suppose I should followup with a call.

Its to the south, If you run the roads out from the end of constrictor you go past it.

We were out there at 2pm, 4 rigs, we played for 4 hours or so.
