Oh and I would have never called myself an enthusiast

why were so many of your posts on fordtruckenthusiast.net ?

i mean literally the words: "ford truck" and "enthusiast" are in the title

but i guess forum titles aren't everything, this is a utah-based forum, entitled "rocky mountain extreme" and there are no "rocky mountains" in utah (unless you mean "rocky" as an adjective i guess), and 99.9% of the rigs here are nowhere near "extreme"...extremely jeep, and toyota saturated i guess

Yeah I had all of 35 posts total on that site in fact until you mentioned my name on the site I didn't even remember it. Like I said that was a dark time in my past:D and you do have a good point about forum titles not being everything.

I also have usernames on honda forums, ls1 forums, nissan forums, firebird and mustang forums and probably quite few that I can't even think of.

I'll let you guys get back to sharing pictures now. I really didn't mean anything personal and I'd go wheeling with you ford and chevy guys anytime.

is that directed at me? because we have multiple personalities. look at my rig, almost literally 50% ford 50% chevy :D

Ok here are a couple pictures of my BII from back in the day. Take note of the picture from the front if you look hard you can see Calvin pissing on a Ford oval in the back window.IMG_1339.jpgIMG_1340.jpg

I too went through a dark time in my life. I had a 94 explorer 4 door that I drove like I stole it. Completely stock other than a set of more aggressive tires. I to have seen the light :)
Currently have 5 Jeeps parked at the house. I replaced that Explorer with a 2004 Grand Cherokee. I am sure that if I drove my Grand the way I drove that Explorer it would be falling apart.

every map of the rockies i have ever seen shows a tiny corner of utah barely touching the rockies range.
basically less than 2% of the state of utah is occupied by part of the rocky mountain range

All right, lets get the crayons out. I'll talk slow for you :D

well that's a cute map kurt, but every map of the rockies i have ever seen shows a tiny corner of utah barely touching the rockies range.
basically less than 2% of the state of utah is occupied by part of the rocky mountain range, less than 2% is negligible to say the least

2% > "none". It can be as cute as you think but they are in fact here. Even the map you cite shows their presence far greater than 2%. Stick with your guns, you said "no rocky mountains in utah". I didn't say there were all here, just more than none. ;) Utah is mainly comprised of basins and plateaus, but what mountains we do have are predominately part of the Rocky Mountains proper.

your map is calling the uinta, the wasatch, (and probably others that i don't even know the names of) and calling them "rocky mountains" as usual kurt i disagree with you, and my geography teacher in school who first taught me this disagrees with you.

And as usual, you're wrong, it happens, don't take it personally. What is there to disagree? The USGS considers the Wasatch, Uinta and even the ranges protruding above Canyonlands

Believe it or not, in some crazy scheme for the USGS to name everything, many ranges and geologic features within the Rocky Mountains have their own names, i.e. Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Mountains, etc. Not everything in Southern Utah is name the Colorado Plateau, your welcome to bounce that off your geology teacher.

How about some more maps, this one from the USGS:

INDEXrockyMtnSUBS.gif

(Do some interpolating and you'll see that the make up nearly all of the Wasatch Front range as well as the bulk of the Uintas ;)

So, yeah about your geology teacher... lol. Feel free to pass along this link to him:

i googled it. i read online, the closest i could find is that they are "considered to be part of the rockies" not good enough for me, but good enough that i deleted the bulk of my post to prevent kurt from nit-picking
