Something else to keep in mind. when a Birfield goes it takes out the Birfield and maybe the inner seal. When a U joint goes it can take both the inner shaft and the outer shaft.

Lets see,, $50.00 for a birfield, and what?? $40.00 for an outer and 50.00 for an inner and 20.00 for a U joint???

Hummmm....

He already has...go to POR in the Vendor section and on someones post selling bobby's new u-joints they list how much stronger than stock they are...no specific numbers though...

if you were to just add ctm joints, i would think that it would be stronger than a toy axle with longfields. ctms are only like 200 bucks aren't they.

well if you just add CTMs you dont get much benefit...you wont be busting joints but you will be snappin shafts...and when you start snappin shafts you start taking out inner and outer, lockouts, cariers, ect...that adds up REAL quick...add the right shafts to the eqution and you have a comparable (IMO) to a toy with longs...

if i wanted cv joints i would buy a front wheel drive car... end of story.hahaha just joking with you guys.
seriously though, with your sami you will never break a d44 up front.. you might break a birfield but i really doubt that as well. either one will definitely get the job done... its all just preference dude!

Has he compared Super birfs w/chromo inners to Warn/CTM combos? I'd like to see that. I know he doesn't/didn't warrantee his superbirf's if you ran Chromo's. CTM recommends that you use Chromo's....

the d-30 would be strong but would cost a lot to get on the correct side.

The 35 rear axles are BARELY bigger in diameter than stock zuk axles...and I MEAN BARELY. I have spare 35 axles and spare zuk axles in my driveway and they are imperceptably different.

FYI, I picked up my d-44s for my zuk for 100$ for the set and got a chevy d-44 front tossed in.

You just have to know where to look and who to talk to....;)

I think he was refering to a cruiser 3rd. I don't know what he's talking about on the 44. (you brewing yet?) :)

nope,

OK so what is the toy 8" I see in ads for ring and pinions. I realize the LC pig is bigger but I assumed that people are refering to the pickup rear ends.

ummm d44 is 8.5" ring gear suckas! jk but seriously it is 8.5"

you know the old jeep trucks, j20's i think or the bigger ones have barely offset axles, d60's on some of them. just a thought. but, if you are going to go with a barely offset axle you might as well just get a centered axle. i'm thinking a 14ff would do the job... haha talk about overkill. do it though.
