So I've got a funny one…

A number of years ago, and I mean years and years, my brother gave me a set of waders, that came out of a trailer of stuff he pulled out of his father-in-law's house. I have never even opened them. I moved them from one house to the one I'm living in now. Every time I go to throw them away I pick up the box and it's fairly heavy, so I assume they are good quality waders. Well today was the day I was either going to make use of them or throw them away. I pulled them off the shelf, and opened up the box. It's just a stack of playboys. This whole time I've just been hoarding some other guys porn.

I think I've reached my minimalist limit. In fact, I wish I had just a tiny bit more space for an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. If my goal were to have as few possessions as possible (not my goal), I would have to ditch a few hobbies that add a lot of value to my life. Minimalism has really helped me focus in what's important in life.

Im slowly getting there. Have a trailer full of stuff to haul to the dump . Finished a bunch of lil projects to make room. Sold what I could, Still aways to go.
Here's my list as of now.
1.) Attack the other side of the shop.
2.) Clear out the basement, a bed and 2 cat destroyed couches
3.) Go through every room again.
Also have a few car related repairs that'll be tossed in between.

This next year I'd like to concentrate on house related projects (paint, yard, ect).
We have new neighbors (crappy walfare deadbeats are gone ) so I need to step up my landscaping game.

I too breath a sigh of relief when I get rid of some junk.
Cant believe all the stuff I've collected over the years.

So do you think you’ve gone too far? Having regrets?

Moving again. Awhile back I bought a clapped out farm truck (02 Dodge diesel) that I have fixed up and a 7x14' enclosed trailer. If our stuff won't fit in the trailer it's not coming with us... Not worried about room so far it looks like everything will fit just fine.

Headed to Floriduh. It's a long-long story but it's something my family and I need to do and for how long I don't know. As for a house we're going to downsize yet again. ~1200 square/ft is likely going to be it.

I won't lie getting ready to move across the country has been stressful but not worrying about lots of 'stuff' has been really-really nice.

Good luck in your new adventure. Florida is a LONG way from here. I hope you and your family find what you are needing.

I threw away a 4'x7'x5' trailer load of low quality or (unused for over 1 year) stuff a week or so ago and thought of this thread. Felt so good!

I tossed enough stuff to fill my 12x7 dump trailer the other day. Very happy to have it gone.

Last night I threw away a couple boxes of things that were in my office from when I moved offices. I haven't even looked in them for a few months.. so they went bye bye. It feels so much better.

Now go back and go through all your old hard drives and try to do the same thing. I have terabytes upon terabytes of redundant files.

But on the bright side, I did find a backup of the U4 logo for @mbryson last year.

I have the same problem. I have work project backups from 15 years ago.

^^^^^^ I finally had a tote full of old HD's shredded last year. Can't really say it felt good at the time. It made me nervous. A year later now I do feel good about it though :D.
